Abstract

This indoor unit for an air conditioner is provided with: a turbo fan (30) which is disposed in a casing, and which rotates in a prescribed rotation direction (arrow R1); a heat exchanger (40) which is disposed in the casing and around the turbo fan (30); and a partition plate (50) which connects the two ends of the heat exchanger (40), and which, along with the heat exchanger (40), surrounds the turbo fan (30). The centre O1 of the turbo fan (30) is positioned upstream of an orthogonal bisector L2 of a line L1 linking the two ends of the partition plate (50), in an air flow direction (arrow R2) between the turbo fan (30) and the partition plate (50). Accordingly, an indoor unit for an air conditioner is provided which is capable of reducing the pressure in a high pressure part generated at ends of the partition part covering an opening to the heat exchanger (40), and which is capable of inhibiting the occurrence of noise.
