Abstract

This indoor unit for an air conditioner is provided with a heat exchanger (40) which is disposed between a centrifugal fan (30), and a first wall part (11), a third wall part (13), and a fourth wall part (14) of a casing (1,2,3). The heat exchanger (40) is provided with: a first extension part (42) which is positioned on the side of the third wall part (13) of the casing (1,2,3), and which extends towards the side of a second wall part (12) from the side of the first wall part (11) of the casing (1,2,3); and a second extension part (43) which is positioned on the side of the fourth wall part (14) of the casing (1,2,3), and which extends towards the side of the second wall part (12) from the side of the first wall part (11) of the casing (1,2,3). A tip end of the first extension part (42) of the heat exchanger (40) is positioned further towards the side of the second wall part (12) of the casing (1,2,3) than the tip end of the second extension part (43) of the heat exchanger (40).
