Abstract

-12 The invention relates to a diaphragm valve and in particular to a guiding assembly for a diaphragm element within the valve and to a float type valve and in particular to a sealing 5 arrangement for the valve. The guiding assembly of the invention comprises a guide pin and a guide bush of harder material than the soft diaphragm to reduce friction as the diaphragm moves up and down the pin to close and open the valve. The sealing arrangement of the invention comprises a rim about a hole in the valve body where the float arm seal opens and closes the valve for reducing or eliminating potential water hammer issues during wave action.
