Abstract

Page 1 of 1 A single pour, flexible, polypropylene flat plastic, hygienic removable/transferable/portable urine toilet guard for use by males in toilets to prevent &/or limit &/or eliminate shoot overs/over sprays. The removable toilet guard sits within the toilet bowl & attaches/locks onto the rim by 3 strategically placed non-removable lugs, in a horse shoe shape preventing the urine going over the bowl & allowing the urine to fall back into the bowl. In some instances, the toilet guard will not sit flush against the inside of the toilet bowl rim in some sections, this depends on the shape of the toilet bowl & it allows for any over sprays/shoot overs to fall back into the toilet bowl. The toilet guard is of a rectangular shape, with, rounded same side corners at the top & 90 degree left /right angle corners at the bottom, with two protruding non-removable lugs out to the sides at the 90 degree corners & one centred non removable lug lower down on the back of the invented toilet guard, it has smooth on all edges & the shape size being • Overall; 511ml x length, 2ml x depth, 128ml x width. • Two lugs on the rear side; 20ml length x 20ml width x 2ml depth, strategically placed in bottom left/right angle corners. • One lug strategically centrally placed on the rear side; 54ml length x 20ml width x 2ml depth. • One injection hole tag centred at the bottom on the rear side.

Description

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION • The invented toilet guard is made from polypropylene (a tough flexible plastic material).
• By heating up the small bead size plastic balls to a liquid consistency & injecting the heated plastic into a steel mould in the shape of the invented toilet guard.
• By making the invented toilet guard in such a method, it allows for complete pouring/production of each individual toilet guard in one go.
• This ensures no joins, splits, seams, holes, drawings, pictures, dents, scratches, marks, grooves, ruts, removable parts &/or anything on the front face/side 2 & the overall weight is kept to a minimum for adaptability, useability, functioning, marketing & transport costs.
The essential & unique key points for the invented toilet guard are listed & explained below;
• Having a smooth flat surface on the front face/side 2 allows for a slight polish to be given of the front face/side 2 only, meaning, this polish then adds to the ease in which the urine runs off.
• Having a smooth flat polished surface with no joins, seams, cuts, slits, bends, removable parts etc., means there is now where for any urine to be trapped, stored, gathered.
• Having nowhere for urine to be trapped, stored, gathered is essential for keeping the invented toilet guard smell, germ & bacteria free making it the most hygienic invented toilet guard to date & that is available.
• Having no removable parts means there are no PARTS/PIECES to this invention, it is a whole product, usable at all times. As oppose to non-usable at all times, meaning if any removed &/or removable parts/pieces got lost, it may become unusable. It also means it has no parts/pieces/places for urine to be trapped & breed causing the invented toilet guard to be unhygienic.
• The specific length & weight of the invented toilet guard is essential for its functionality. Meaning if it is to long & comes around the inside of the bowl to far there may not be enough gap at the front for aiming inside. If it is to short & doesn’t come around the bowl enough, it may not stop the urine going over the back & sides. If it is to heavy or light it won’t stay in place by itself. Making the invented toilet guards length & weight a unique major key.
• The specific height & weight of the invented toilet guard is essential for its function. Meaning the invented toilet guard is made to pass down below the toilet bowl rim 1, the height is higher than were the toilet seat attaches to the toilet, not too high to stop the toilet seat being placed back down with the invented toilet guard still in the usable/installed position if necessary.
• The length, weight, depth, width & placement of the larger centrally placed back lug 3 is of utmost importance for the invented toilet guard. Meaning the positioning, locking in system, tilt angle, height when in the usable position, the adaptability to most toilet shapes/sizes rely on this lug.
• The two smaller right angled corner lugs 4 & 5 size, weight, length, width, breadth, depth, angle & placement is of utmost importance to the functioning of the invented toilet guard. Meaning the locking in/installation in the working position, hygienic ease of removal, positioning angle once installed/locked in, overall size including weight of the lugs rely on these two lugs to function in the correct manner.

The following is a list of installation/locking in & removal procedures for the invented toilet guard;
Installation/locking in • Ensure the toilet lid & seat are in the upright position.
• Pick up the invented toilet guard polished front face/side 2 facing you.
• Place your left hand on the left-hand side edge 10 & your right hand on the righthand side edge 9.
• At the same time gently push both hands in toward each other, like you are going to clap your hands. The invented toilet guard will bend/flex into a horse shoe shape & the rear face/side 17 may become flush with your fingers &/or hands.
• Your invented toilet guard is now ready for you to install into the toilet.
• Keeping the invented toilet guard in the flexed/bent shape, bend down over your toilet.
• Place the larger centrally placed lug 3, at the back, in the middle, on top of the toilet bowl rim 1.
• Lower the corners where you have your hands on the invented toilet guard down into the toilet bowl just far enough so that the left & right angle corner lugs 4 & 5 are just below the inner toilet bowl rim.
• Slowly release the sides edges 9 & 10 out, so that the right-angle corner lugs 4 & 5 are now sitting underneath flush with the inner toilet bowl rim.
• Your hands should be now free & the invented toilet guard should be sitting/locked in/installed by itself, ready to be used.
Hygienic Removal • Is done as per the above method only in reverse order.
• If hygienic removal is performed in the correct manner, there is no need for your hands to be in contact with any urine unless it has been sprayed/splashed over the side of the invented toilet guard.
Cleaning & Storage • May be performed in any manner that suits yourself.
• Whilst cleaning, transporting, storing of the invented toilet guard it is advised that any marking, scratching, sticker placement, gouging is kept to a minimum on this product especially on the front face/side 2.

Differences between the prior art & my invention are listed below:
Bressler Mark, 5,117,512, 02/06/1992 • Many parts required for assembly • Product is un-usable if even 1 part is accidently lost/broken/comes loose/flushed down the toilet, can you buy spares?
• Lengthy time required for assembly/dis-assembly between each time the product is used & cleaned.
• Removable parts/holes/attachments/stickers means more places for urine to be trapped & form/grow/breed germs &/or bacteria, making it un-hygienic.
• Having attachments that attach by cement/glue &/or any similar substance means it may be porous therefore it may/will soak up/in any urine sprayed/splashed onto/under/around such areas, making it unhygienic.
• Attachments joined via cement/glue or other such similar product/s may fall off & be lost/lodged/flushed if the cement/glue or any other similar product become brittle/chipped/broken making the product unusable.
Partridge, Tamara, 0,211,007 A1, 07/08/2009 • Requires attaching to the toilet seat its self, deeming it unusable without a toilet seat.
• Complete different material used to produce/manufacture/make the item, vinyl & wire.
• Has a hook & loop self-adhesive strap/s to attach to the toilet at back were urine can gather/get trapped/grow/breed/smell, making it unhygienic.
• Stays in the toilet bowl when not being used. Making it very un-hygienic as others may urinate &/or dedicate on it, producing germs, bacteria & cross contamination.
Conn, Donna & William, 0,198,727 A1, 27/08/2005 • It has many removable parts if any are lost/flushed/broken/chipped the product is unusable, can you get spare parts?
• Many pieces required to ensure complete cleaning is achieved.
• Due to many removable parts/pieces this gives many places for urine to gather/grow/breed making it very un-hygienic.

Valencia, Jo Ann, 7,178,177 B1, 20/02/2007 • The toilet seat is unable to be used in the normal position while this product is in place, ready for use.
• The two flanges 101 & 102 do not sit flush with the toilet bowl rim, allowing for urine to be sprayed/splashed in behind &/or over the corner edges.
• Stickers/targets stuck/placed/glued/cemented onto the product supplies more areas that urine can get into/under/behind which may produce germs & bacteria’s breeding in such areas especially if any parts are damaged &/or scratched, making it unhygienic.
• Heat welding may produce air bubbles that are formed during the welding process, if any such bubbles are damaged after use/storage/transportation/shipping & handling it is possible for urine &/or cleaning liquids to gather/collect grow/breed/smell/produce mould in such places making it unhygienic.
• The user has to touch the inside with their thumbs, fingers, palms to remove from the toilet bowl, to unclip the flanges from up under the toilet bowl rim edge.
• Several components are optional on this product.
• It is a complete different shape & size.

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
I came up with this invention purely out of a NEEDS basis (in the early ‘90s) for my son. He was not circumcised & unable to grasp the idea of pulling back his fore skin to pee, so therefore he kept peeing over the side & back of the bowl & under the toilet seat at the back of the bowl. Which was very frustrating having to remove the toilet seat to clean under there all the time, so, hence my invention.
I did not want something that had any joins, seams, holes or anything of the kind that could encourage the breeding of germs in such areas &/or bacteria &/or smell from any urine that I may have missed while washing the toilet guard. This is how I came up with such a hygienic way of making it. I first decided to make the one & only proto type from whatever material (bendy plastic) I could find at the hardware store. I then did some measuring of the toilet bowl both with & without my son in front of the bowl, cut out the basic shape & lugs & used a hot glue gun to glue it all together. I proceeded to use it during his toilet training period & then threw it in the bottom of the cupboard & left it there until now, 22yrs later.
