Abstract

SPECIFICATION INNOVATION PATENT UNSTABLE FURNITURE PLATFORM Theis described in the following statement: The disclosed unstable furniture apparatus(s) comprises of an assembly of a base with a hemispherical or curved shaped underside (#1) and a platform on the 5 topside (#2) that allows for two or more people to assemble in either a seated or non-seated position. The hemispherical or curved shaped base (#1) enables the platform (#2) to achieve a unidirectional rocking action when used by people in a seated or non-seated position. The unstable furniture apparatus(s) may or may not incorporate a ballast-like weight (#3) within the platform to limit the amount 10 of rocking action that might occur when a weight or force is applied to the platform. PERSPECTIVE VIEW PLATFORM FOR SEATED AND NON-SEATED POSITIONS #2 FRONT VIEW SIDE VIEW BASE WITH A HEMISPHERICAL OR CURVED SHAPED UNDERSIDE #1 BALLAST-LIKE WEIGHT #3

Description

UNSTABLE FURNITURE PLATFORM
The present invention relates to the field of furniture, work-tools and workspaces, and more particularly relates to apparatuses for two or more people to assemble together upon an unstable platform. The invention further relates to an apparatus for enabling two or more people to assemble, interact and converse whilst together experiencing a shared level of instability and/or balancing sensation when in a seated or non-seated position.
Existing furniture and work-spaces for two or more people are typically comprised of stable apparatuses and level surface platforms. This existing approach to furniture and work-spaces for two or more people do not offer any shared or interconnected movement whilst assembled together.
The invention herein described, enables two or more people to experience a shared level of instability and/or balancing sensation when assembled together in a seated or non-seated position, and therefore providing a unique balancing interaction between the participants that is not achieved in existing furniture and work-spaces.
The invention is the result of the combination and or configuration of the following items (not all of which are unique); A. A base with a hemispherical or curved shaped underside to achieve a unidirectional rocking action. B. A platform on the topside that allows for two or more people to assemble in either a seated or non-seated position. C. The apparatus(s) may or may not incorporate a ballast-like weight within the platform to limit the amount of unidirectional rocking action.
It is also understood that various additions and/or modifications to the invention can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. These additions and/or modifications are therefore considered to fall within the scope of the invention.

Claims (5)

  1. CLAIMS The claims defining the invention are as follows:

  2. 2. An unstable furniture apparatus as claimed in Claim 1, with a hemispherical or curved shaped underside to the platform that enables the platform to achieve a unidirectional rocking action.
  3. 3. An unstable furniture apparatus as claimed in Claims 1 and 2, with a hemispherical or curved shaped underside to the platform that enables the platform to balance upon the hemispherical or curved shaped base.
  4. 4. An unstable furniture apparatus as claimed in Claims 1 - 3, with a hemispherical or curved shaped underside to the platform that enables the platform to balance upon the hemispherical or curved shaped base with or without a ballast-like weight within the platform to limit the amount of rocking action that might occur when a weight or force is applied to the platform.
  5. 5. An unstable furniture apparatus(s) substantially as herein before described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
