HOW QuodR WORKS 1. All users sign up to QuodR using their personal email address or phone number and a personalized password created by the user. 2. The user will then receive a 6 (six) digit code by either email or phone message, depending on which the user had entered. 3. The user will enter the received 6 (six) digit code into the database as an added line of security to ensure the correct user is entering that user's account on the database. 4. Upon the correct identifying information being entered, the user then has access to the following functions: i. Ensure that any or all insurance policies that the user may have, is up to date; ii. See what personal items the user has registered to each insurance policy; iii. Find out the current value of the user's registered asset's; iv. Update the status of a personal item in the event the item is sold, lost, stolen, damaged, repossessed or destroyed; v. Change the user's insurance provider; vi. Receive updates if the user's stolen or lost property has been recovered; vii. Enable the user to report a lost item that is not being claimed for on insurance; viii. Check the status on an item the user may wish to purchase; ix. Upload photographs of video footage of items or incidents; 5. If the user is wanting to add another personal item to the QuodR database, the system will cross reference the item, using identifying information to ensure there is not multiple items using the same identifying information, whilst also updating the status on the said item. a. To enter a user's personal items the user can either do this manually by entering the required information, or automatically using their mobile phone or digital tablet. b. To enter the user's items automatically, the user will be required to open the downloaded QuodR App and log in, where the user will select the 'Add Item' button, the user will then be required to take 4 (four) photographs of the item with their device in the follow manner: i. The Items Serial Number: the user points the camera on their device at the items individual identifying serial number, and take a picture. The system will use Optical Character Recognition technology to record the serial number and self-populate the information into the individual item account created by the system. The system will also record the actual photograph taken and add that to the individual item account; ii. The Items Bar Code: the user points the camera on their device at the items Bar Code, and take a picture. The system will use Barcode Recognition Software technology to record the item's details and selfpopulate the information into the individual item account created by the system. The system will also record the actual photograph taken and add that to the individual item account; iii. The Item: the user points the camera at the actual item and takes a picture. The system will add this photograph to the item's individual item account created by the system; and iv. The Proof of Purchase: the user points the camera at the Purchase Receipt for the item and takes a picture. The system will use Optical Character Recognition technology to record the date, purchase price and place of purchase and self-populate the information into the individual item account created by the system. The system will add this photograph to the item's individual item account created by the system. c. Once the user confirms the recorded information, the system cross references that information with other items previously entered in the QuodR database for detection of: i. Stolen, lost or destroyed items; ii. Other items using the same individual identifying information; and iii. Serial numbers that do not match the items description. d. In the event the system detects that the item has been recorded as stolen, lost or destroyed, or if there is a conflict with serial numbers with another recorded item, the user as well as any other entities related to the item or items will be notified. 6. If the user needs to change the status of an item, the user selects the 'Change Item Status' button. The user will then select the item, and by using a drop down menu, the user can select the correct status. This change will be updated on the QuodR database, that will record the change of status, user's ID, date of change and whether the item is insured. The status selection is: a. Sold; b. Stolen (supported with a report or claim number); c. Purchased; d. Lost; e. Damaged; f. Destroyed; g. Repossessed; h. Repaired; i. Recovered; and j. Other. 7. If an item's status is changed to stolen, lost, damaged or destroyed, the user will be asked if an insurance claim will be or has been lodged. If so the user will press the tick box. If a claim has been lodged, the user will enter the claim number. 8. If the user changes the status of an item and the said item has a current insurance policy attached to the item, the user's details, policy number, claim number, item details, original pictures entered in to the items account, any further pictures or video footage, the items history as well as confirmation that the item's status has been updated is sent to the insurance company involved via email. 9. Taking a photograph of the items individual identifying serial number; c. The system will use Optical Character Recognition technology to identify the serial number before checking that the item is registered on the QuodR database; d. If the item is registered on the QuodR database, the user will receive a notification that gives the user the said items status, as per listed in paragraph 6 (six), as well as the opportunity to request a 'History Report' on that item; e. If the user wants to view the history report, the user can select to do so, and receive the status history on that item from the time it was registered on the QuodR database; f. The information included in the history report includes: i. Dates of status changes; ii. What the status changes were; iii. Photographs of the item; iv. The status change ID number; and v. Any other relevant information. vi. NO personal information will be given in this report. 11. If the user has requested a status report, and the QuodR system identifies that the searched item has been recorded lost or stolen, the parties in relation to this event will be notified, (person requesting a status report, the person that made the claim, the associated insurance company and nearest police agency). The location of the recorded item will not be reported to any entities beside police agencies. 12. If a user is requesting a status report, but has no camera or camera function, the user selects the 'Status Report' button, the user will then be required to manually input the item's individual identifying information, this feature is for, but not limited to the computer based version. 13. The system will provide the user with the current status on the item, if that item is registered on the QuodR database. 14.
