Abstract

A method of decoding a video signal is disclosed. The decoding method includes deriving a residual sample relating to a current block from a bitstream, performing an intra prediction for the current block based on neighboring samples adjacent to the current 5 block, and deriving a reconstruction sample relating to the current block by adding a prediction sample derived by performing the intra prediction and the residual sample relating to the current block. The prediction sample is derived based on a top neighboring sample adjacent to the current block and a variation relating to the neighboring samples, and the variation relating to the neighboring samples is 10 representative of a difference value between a top-left neighboring sample adjacent to the current block and a left neighboring sample adjacent to the current block. -41 -
