Abstract
While lamps have traditionally been used solely for lighting, there is a growing for lamps which also serve as ornaments in themselves. This illuminated base table lamp combines functionality with aesthetics, creating a lamp that not only provides lighting, but also creates ambience. To do so, this lamp uses two light bulbs, one located in the middle of the lampshade, and the other in the lamp's base. The upper bulb is what provides the main source of brightness, while the lower bulb's purpose is to create mood lighting. - 0 ~t -'-' Al I-. 8 K/I -~ (A §4 'U ( A
Description
Dual light portable lamp
Description of Invention [0001] The purpose of this lamp's unique model is to provide two sources of light emanating from the same lamp. Through having an illuminated stand, this lamp enhances the ambience of a room and brightens it up more than a normal lamp would - thus serving both a decorative and a practical function.
[0002] To achieve this, a second light source is added inside the ceramic base of the table lamp, and will thus be called the lower light. The lower light source will be separate of the upper light source, which is located in the middle of the lampshade (as is the case of a normal table lamp). In order for the lower light to radiate outside the base, the base itself will either be made with a translucent material, or will be decorated with a pattern of cut out holes, from which the light can spill forth. The base will also be vase shaped.
[0003] Both the upper and lower lights can be electrically controlled either separately or together. The upper light's main function is to provide lighting, while the lower light's purpose is to create a warm, illuminated ambience. Furthermore, the engraved holes which pattern the vase-like base of the lamp not only let light pass through, but also add to the lamp's unique aesthetic and ornamental value.
[0004] The bottom of the lamp's base can be removed, allowing for the lower light bulb to be fitted in or replaced without touching the upper light bulb, adding to its convenience. But the same invention can also be made with integrated LED construction which then don't need light source replacement.
[0005] The invention patent is to cover "DUAL LIGHT CERAMIC PORTABLE LAMP".
Description of accompanying figure: 1. Lamp shade 2. Fixing hole 3. Ceramic base 4. Cut out decoration holes (needed for light spill, but not necessary if the base is already made from a translucent material) 5 , Upper light bulb 6 . Upper light cap 7. Connection rod (not necessary depending on design) 8. Lower light cap 9. Lower light bulb 10 . Bottom opening
