Technical Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a universal tooling for machining teeth of a gear having a non-circular center hole.
Background of the Invention
Usually, gears are sheathed on a spindle and then clamped by means of locking by bolts or in other ways, and then gear hobbing is performed. However, some gears having a non-circular center hole (e.g., gears having a horseshoe-shaped hole) cannot be sheathed on the spindle. Therefore, a tooling for clamping and fixing a gear having a non-circular center hole for purpose of performing hobbing on the gear having a non-circular center hole is needed.
Summary of the Invention
An objective of the present invention is to provide a universal tooling for machining teeth of a gear having a non-circular center hole, which can clamp and fix the gear having a non-circular center hole.
To realize this purpose, the present invention employs the following technical solution. A universal tooling for machining teeth of a gear having a non-circular center hole is provided, including a machine tool spindle one-piece mandrel arranged on a machine tool and a rear top cover fitted with the machine tool spindle one-piece mandrel for fixing a gear having a non-circular center hole, wherein one end of the machine tool spindle one-piece mandrel is fixed on the machine tool, while a left groove which can be matched with a step of the gear having a non-circular center hole is formed 1 2016101622 14 Sep 2016 at the other end of the machine tool spindle one-piece mandrel; and, a right groove which can be matched with a step of the gear having a non-circular center hole is formed at one end of the rear top cover, while an external conical groove matched with a tip of the machine tool is provided at the other end of the rear top cover; the left groove of the machine tool spindle one-piece mandrel includes a first left groove section and a second left groove section, and the aperture of the first left groove section is greater than that of the second left groove section; and the step of the gear having a non-circular center hole passes through the first left groove section and then extends into the second left groove section. Due to the presence of the first groove section, an annular bulge is formed on the machine tool spindle one-piece mandrel, and the annular bulge plays a role of compressing the gear face of the gear so as to fix the gear. In the present invention, grooves matched with side steps of the gear are provided, and steps on the two sides of the gear having a non-circular center hole are interference fitted within the grooves, and by compressing by the tip, the gear having a non-circular center hole is fixed axially and circumferentially.
Preferably, a third left groove section is provided on an inner side of the second left groove section of the left groove of the machine tool spindle one-piece mandrel, and the aperture of the third left groove section is smaller than that of the second left groove section. Due to the multiple groove sections and the steps applicable to gears of different diameters and thicknesses, the tooling of the present invention may clamp and fix a plurality of kinds of gears.
The tooling of the present invention may clamp and fix a gear having a non-circular center hole for the purpose of performing hobbing on the gear having a non-circular center hole.

Detailed Description of the Invention
As shown in Fig. 1, Fig. 2 and Fig. 3, a tooling for machining teeth of a gear having a non-circular center hole of the present invention includes a machine tool spindle one-piece mandrel 1 arranged on a machine tool and a rear top cover 2 fitted with the machine tool spindle one-piece mandrel for fixing a gear having a non-circular center hole. One end of the machine tool spindle one-piece mandrel is fixed on a machine tool spindle 9, while a left groove 4 which can be matched with a step 31 of the gear 3 having a non-circular center hole is formed at the other end of the machine tool spindle one-piece mandrel. A right groove 5 which can be matched with the step 31 of the gear 3 having a non-circular center hole is formed at one end of the rear top cover 2, while an external conical groove 61 matched with a tip 6 of the machine tool is provided at the other end of the rear top cover 2.
As shown in Fig. 3, the left groove 4 of the machine tool spindle one-piece mandrel 1 includes a first left groove section 41, a second left groove section 42 and a third left groove section 43. The aperture of the first left groove section 41 is greater than that of the second left groove section 42, and the aperture of the second left groove section 42 is greater than that of the third left groove section 43.The step 31 on the left side of the gear 3 having a non-circular center hole passes through the first left groove section 41 and then extends into the second left groove section 42.
The right groove 5 of the rear top cover 2 includes a first right groove section 51, a second right groove section 52 and a third right groove section 53. The aperture of the first right groove section 51 is greater than that of the second right groove section 52, and the aperture of the second right groove section 52 is greater than that of the third right groove section 53. The step 31 on the right side of the gear 3 having a non-circular center hole successively passes through the first right groove section 51 and the second right groove 3 2016101622 14 Sep 2016 section 52 and then extends into the third left groove section 53.Rubber gaskets may be placed within the first left groove section 41 and the first right groove section 42.
The rear top cover includes a tubular sleeve 21 and a top plug 22 having, on an outer side thereof, an external conical groove 61 matched with the tip of the machine tool; the top plug 22 is interference fitted within the sleeve 21; and a stopper for preventing the top plug from being completely sunk into the sleeve is provided on the outer side of the top plug. An internal conical groove 62 matched with the tip is provided on the inner side of the top plug 22.
As shown in Fig. 2, the machine tool spindle one-piece mandrel 1 in the present invention is fixed on a hobbing machine spindle 9, the step 31 on one side of the gear 3 having a non-circular center hole is clamped into the left groove 4, so that the step on the left side is in interference fit with the second left groove section 42. Then, the step on the other side of the gear 3 having a non-circular center hole is clamped into the rear top cover 2, so that the step on the right side is in interference fit with the third right groove section. Finally, the rear top cover 2 is tightly compressed by the tip 6.As annular bulges are formed on the first left groove section 41 and the first right groove section, the stressed area is reduced and the pressure onto the gear face of the gear 3 having a non-circular center hole is increased, so that the gear may be better fixed by the tooling of the present invention. 4

    1. A universal tooling for machining teeth of a gear having a non-circular center hole, comprising a machine tool spindle one-piece mandrel arranged on a machine tool and a rear top cover fitted with the machine tool spindle one-piece mandrel for fixing a gear having a non-circular center hole; one end of the machine tool spindle one-piece mandrel is fixed on the machine tool, while a left groove which can be matched with a step of the gear having a non-circular center hole is formed at the other end of the machine tool spindle one-piece mandrel; and, a right groove which can be matched with the step of the gear having a non-circular center hole is formed at one end of the rear top cover, while an external conical groove matched with a tip of the machine tool is provided at the other end of the rear top cover; the left groove of the machine tool spindle one-piece mandrel comprises a first left groove section and a second left groove section, and the aperture of the first left groove section is greater than that of the second left groove section; and the step of the gear having a non-circular center hole passes through the first left groove section and then extends into the second left groove section.

The universal tooling for machining teeth of a gear having a non-circular center hole according to claim 1, characterized in that a third left groove section is provided on an inner side of the second left groove section of the left groove of the machine tool spindle one-piece mandrel, and the aperture of the third left groove section is smaller than that of the second left groove section.
