Abstract
A triangular bracket system for attaching a clothesline assembly to a wall, post, fence or other structure. The brackets can be chosen from a group comprising fixed brackets, folding brackets, internal corner brackets, post mount brackets and flat wall brackets. A pivot and locking pin combination allows the clothesline to fold down against the wall, fence or other structure that it is attached to. Aq3 7 v4 JftoZAdA k TO
Description
TRIANGULAR BRACKET CLOTHESLINE SYSTEM
My invention is the triangular bracket system used for a clothesline assembly.
The individual brackets are 90° right angle scalene or isosceles triangles once fixed to a wall, see FIGURE 2 #1, #2. The post bracket in FIGURE 2 #3 is triangular in nature, as previously stated, and varies slightly in shape in order to be fixed to a post. All of the brackets are fixed so the 90° right angles face each other for wire stranding purposes, see FIGURE 1 Flag note D1.
The triangular brackets are fixed to a wall or post giving maximum strength in a horizontal axis in order to strand cable such as marine wire or nylon cord along a wall or space. See FIGURE 1. A general clothesline has two or more different brackets to make up one clothesline assembly. Other existing clotheslines use a cross support bar which limits the length of hanger line that can be used. My clothesline invention has no cross support in the assembly, therefore allowing hanger lines to strand further along a wall or space.
My invention allows for various bracket options using a SYSTEM with; FIXED brackets, FOLDING brackets, INTERNAL CORNER brackets, POST MOUNT BRACKETS and FLAT WALL brackets. These different brackets are used to make up any given assembly in any combination for mounting purposes to a wall, post or space. See FIGURE 2.
The bracket material can be either metal or non-metallic manufactured in any form however in this case it is flat bar in 316 grade stainless steel, folded to form the previously mentioned bracket shapes of the system.
The strand material is stainless steel marine wire tensioned to give the clothesline the advantage of achieving longer spans. Alternatively, nylon can be used for shorter spans. A pivot folding bracket assembly, shown in FIGURE 2 #2 shows a pivot and locking pin combination allowing the clothesline to fold down against a wall, fence and/or structure.
Claims (5)
- Claims1. A clothesline for attachment to a wall comprising two brackets adapted for fixing to and projecting from the wall and one or more lines strung between said brackets .
- 2. The clothesline of claim 1 in which the brackets are V shaped with lugs at the extremities of the V which are fixed to the wall by fasteners and with a projecting side of each V shaped bracket supporting the one or more lines.
- 3. The clothesline of claim 1 further comprising two plates fixed to the wall and the brackets are V shaped with the extremities of the V fixedly pivoted to the plates and with a projecting side of each V shaped bracket supporting the one or more lines.
- 4. The clothesline of claim 3 in which the V shaped brackets are releaseable to rotate about the pivots into the wall.
- 5. A clothesline for attachment to posts comprising V shaped brackets with the extremities of the V pivoted to the posts by fasteners and with a projecting side of each V shaped bracket supporting the one or more lines.
