Description

TITLE: REAL-TIME FREIGHT MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE MOBILE
APPLICATION AND E-FREIGHT MARKETPLACE SOFTWARE PORTAL
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The application relates to freight management on road transport identification and monitoring method, system and software, for the monitoring, recording and communication of freight type, vehicle capacity, GPS location of freight and vehicle, allocation of available freight capacity in a vehicle using mobile data capture and QR barcode recognition and smartphone or tablet and which data is transmitted to a centralised storage for analysis via wireless communication networks. More specifically use of smartphones and tablets with mobile internet connection to track freight loaded/unloaded on a truck vehicle and measuring free capacity in the vehicle in real time to load more freight during its trip from a pick up to a delivery address.
[0002] The application relates further to a mobile Application software commonly known as Apps, and relates to world wide web internet portal that stores and allows input and out of the App information as current GPS location of a vehicle (truck) and freight, space freight capacity on that vehicle, route of the vehicle, vehicle timetracking historically, scan of QR barcode on loading/unloading of freight on the vehicle, which data is transmitted from/to the mobile App via mobile broadband internet connection.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0003] The innovation of the invention is the improvement of use of smartphone, application or technology using the global mobile communication system by a truck vehicle driver by: i) identifying various drivers using the App and driving the vehicle (truck) via login credentials; and ii) Identifying various vehicles (trucks) by connecting them to a particular freight moving company and assigning them unique numbers in the software like registration plate number and engine number; and iii) Gathering and storing GPS location of each vehicle in a centralised storage and allowing live GPS tracking of multiple vehicles; and iv) Scanning QR barcode printed on freight (e.g. pallets and boxes) and calculating spare capacity in the vehicle (truck) and estimating based on pickup and delivery addresses spare capacity at different points of time; and v) Allowing vehicle driver to see requests for freight movement by nearby GPS locations; and vi) Allowing vehicle driver to refine search requests for freight movement based on matching algorithm using freight type, frequent destinations, current driving route chosen between pickup and delivery addresses, current space freight capacity in the vehicle, pickup and delivery time range request; [0004] Current freight management systems do not allow for such a real-time matching between freight movement requests and freight companies operating road transport truck vehicles.
[0005] Current freight management system do not allow freight companies to receive instant freight pick up request on the go and therefore lack opportunity to sell spare capacity in their vehicles.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0006] In accordance with a first aspect of the invention there is provided a truck vehicle GPS tracking and communication tool that enables transport companies to monitor spare capacity on their vehicles and sell this spare capacity, while the vehicle is traveling between pickup and delivery destination using a smartphone or tablet App, which includes: i) constantly receiving vehicle GPS location and calculating information on arrival date and time at a certain destination address or location; and ii) have information of what freight is loaded in the vehicle, using QR barcode reader software integrated in the smartphone or tablet App, by allowing the driver to scan the freight when is loaded in the vehicle iii) have information of what freight needs to be delivered at which address or location, with opportunity for the person sending the freight to change the destination address or location while the driver is already on the way with the vehicle loaded with the client’s freight; and iv) driver or transport company can announce the spare freight capacity in any vehicle which driver is equipped with the smartphone or tablet app on an e-freight marketplace; and v) calculates the spare freight capacity at any point of time and can directly accept request for loading more freight on the go along the route planned for a particular vehicle (truck); vi) allows the person or client sending the freight to monitor the freight current location in real-time and based on GPS location, and route calculation information to annouce via a short message service (SMS) send to the receiving freight person that he or she needs to be at the delivery address or location to receive the freight; and vii) smartphone or tablet App is transmitting data via wireless communication network (such as Global System for Mobile Communication Network (GSM)or Code Division Multiple Access systems (CDMA) or 3G or 4G GSM or wideband CDMA to a central storage via an Application Program Interface (API) specially designed to minimise data traffic and to securely encrypt the information transmitted; and viii) Gather, analyse and profiling each driving behaviour, frequent routes by company or by driver or by vehicle using a computing algorithm that stores the result in a central storage and frequently suggests best transport company or best driver or best vehicle that can transport certain type of freight between two locations or addresses; and

Analysis of the data captured in claim 1 with an algorithm profiling each transport company behaviour using as input parameters: frequent routes by company or by driver or by vehicle, vehicle model, permission to carry different freight type, spare freight capacity and loading and unloading facilities provided that stores the result in a central storage and frequently suggests best transport company that can transport certain type of freight between two locations or addresses.
