Description

COMPLETE SPECIFICATION INNOVATION PATENT NEW TO THE WORLD GIFT HAMPER The following statement is a complete description of this invention, including the best method for performing it known to me: 2 NEW TO THE WORLD GIFT HAMPER BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Problem [0001] Gift hampers commonly include goods such as gourmet foods, confectionary, fruit, nuts, flowers, alcohol and various other products presented in a range of baskets, boxes and other hamper type containers that do not offer an innovative gift solution. Solution to the Problem [0002] This hand crafted invention has been specially created to provide an alternative and inexpensive gift hamper (hamper) option that is unique and personalized whereby the essential features of the hamper are hand written names, words and messages on grains of rice using micro calligraphy technique that are affixed inside miniature glass vials (vials), which are individually attached to bamboo skewers or other sticklike materials (stems) that are inserted into a noodle box hamper, which is presented and transported in a specifically created trapezium shape style paper gift bag with vertical pull-tab opening system down one side. Advantageous Effects of Invention [0003] The key innovative steps in this invention are two fold. Firstly, the ancient micro calligraphy method of writing or drawing on rice (rice art) in either black, white or coloured ink to communicate either a personal or generic message through either letters, words, numbers, symbols or pictures or to write one's name, that are magnified and preserved in mineral oil inside vials, which are attached to stems that promote the upward display of the message is one key feature. Secondly, the specially created trapezium shape style paper gift bag with vertical pull-tab opening system down one side, which both presents and transports the hamper has been specifically innovated as a key element of the hamper's function. [0004] Firstly, the vials as claimed in claim 1 are predominately lip vials that are clear smooth glass, 20 x 25 millimetre (mm) in diameter, flat, round and bulb shaped with cork stoppers (stoppers) and the volume, which is defined by the neck and known as the headspace is approximately 3mm but any type of vial with any type of closure system and made from any type of material in any colour, texture, size and shape, and with any type of stopper could be used.
3 [0005] Specifically, the rice art is affixed to the inside surface of the vial using an adhesive substance but this step could be removed and additional objects could be inserted into the vial to either support the rice grains or for decorative purposes. Such objects include but are not limited to glitter, beads, flora, fauna, paper, sand, shells, stones, gems, and other materials. Once the rice art is positioned inside the vial, the vial is filled with a clear or coloured mineral oil that magnifies the rice art and preserves the rice. Other types of oil that is either clear or coloured can also be used. [0006] The stoppers are then fixed into the vial using an adhesive substance but bonding the stoppers into the vial is not always the case. Each vial is then attached to a stem where either the pointy end of the stem or one end of the stem is inserted into the surface of the cork that is largest in diameter and protruding from the neck of the vial. Stems are generally 2.5mm in diameter x 2,500mm in length but can be any width or length. The pointy-end of the stems are affixed into the cork using an adhesive substance but bonding the stems into the cork is not always the case. [0007] Each grain of rice can typically have either between one and ten letters, numbers or symbols written on it using micro calligraphy technique but could exceed this amount. One or more pictures can also be drawn on the rice using micro calligraphy method. Words, letters, numbers, symbols and pictures can be written on either one or both sides of the rice grain. The rice that is used to write on can either be short grain, medium grain or long grain and any type of grain of rice including either black, coloured, smooth or textured rice can be used. [0008] Each vial can have been between one and two grains of rice art positioned inside of it but could also exceed two grains of rice. Each hamper container, contains between one and eight stems that have vials individually attached to one end of them with the rice art inside, but more stems could be inserted into the hamper. The completed stems are inserted into dry or wet florist foam inside the hamper but this method is not always the case and for the purpose of securing the stems inside the hamper, other materials may be used. [0009] Secondly, the paper gift bag with pull-tab opening system as claimed in claim 1 and claim 5 is a trapezium shape style bag with two parallel sides that has a vertical pull-tab opening system down one side of the bag, enabling the bag to be opened from one side so that the fragile and delicate hamper can be easily transported, presented and removed from its carrier without damaging its contents and presentation. The trapezium shape style paper gift bag with vertical pull-tab opening system and cord handles is predominately 40cm high x 26cm wide across the top x 12cm wide across the bottom x 15cm deep in dimension but could be varied and any trapezium style bag made from any type of material in any colour, texture, size and shape and with any type of handles that has a pull-tab opening system and fits the hamper innovation could be used. The paper gift bag with pull-tab opening system is a key function of the hamper and has 4 been specially innovated to present and transport the hamper but this may not always be the case. In some instances a hamper may be presented and transported without its gift bag. Brief Description of Drawings [0010] To better illustrate the creation, the embodiments of the invention are shown in Figures 1-11 where Figures 1-4 show an elevation of a new to the world gift hamper with an example of the essential features highlighted in dotted outline being the rice art affixed (1,4) inside an individual vial using an adhesive substance (1,2) that is attached to a stem, which is made of a bamboo skewer (1,3,5), and Figures 5-6 show drawings of the specially created paper gift bag that presents and transports the hamper (1,5). Figure 7 shows the rice art (1,4) affixed inside the lip vial (1,2) that is closed with a cork stopper (2,3), which is attached to a bamboo skewer (1,3,5). Figure 8 shows where the cork stopper (2,3) is inserted into the lip vial (1,2). Figure 9 shows where the pointy tip of the bamboo skewer (1,3,5) meets the surface of the cork stopper that is largest in diameter (2,3) for insertion into the cork stopper, which is inserted into the lip vial (1,2) to make an attachment (1,3,5). Figure 10 shows the overall completed attachment (1,2,3,4,5). Figure 11 shows the bamboo skewer inserted into the dry florist foam (3) to create an upward display of the vials with the rice art inside them (1,3,5).
