Abstract
The commonly used and described tennis court line markings, either painted or taped, in white or other colour, are extended by narrow lines in contrasting colour.
Description
This invention provides greater accuracy for particular term is line calls by designated persons as wail as video replay decisions. Currently all tennis courts white line marked for both singles and doubles play do not have narrow extended lines with contrasting colour on intersecting white lines, resulting in possible incorrect line calls and or video replay decisions.
Attached diagram Figure I details narrowextended lines with contrasting colour on the twelve whit© lino Intersections to which this invention applies and represents a standard tennis court with white plastic, painted, or otherwise taped lines, marked for bote singles and doubles play. When this model court is used for singles play narrow extended lines 1 to 12 with contrasting colour are required.
When the same model court as in Figure 1 is used for doubles play the narrow extended lines 3 to 10 with contrasting colour are required. Extended coloured lines 1, 2> 11 and 12 remain in place but are npt taredved in decSsion making.
On tennis courts specifically laid and white line marked for singles play narrow extended lines 3 to 10 with contrasting colour apply as in Figure 1 A special tennis court laid and white line marked for doubles play requires narrow extended lines 3 to 10 with conrrastlng coiour as in Figure I, figure 2 m per attached sheet represents approximate site of intersecting white lines car a standard court arid includes the narrow extended line 3 with contrasting colour as detailed in Figure X. Figure 3 as per attached shset shows the narrow extended contrasting coloured lines 4 andS ©n Intersecting white lines as detailed in Figure X.
On tennis courts laid as fa] standard, fb] singles or fcf doubles with coloured line markings other than whit®, the narrow extended Unas as detailed in Figure 1 above, are to be highlighted by a contrasting colour.
Claims (3)
