BACKGROUND [0002] The reference to any prior art in this specification is not, and should not be taken as an acknowledgement or any form of suggestion that the prior art forms part of the common general knowledge.
[0003] Freight trains often need to reverse at remote mine balloon sites. In this event, one of the two train drivers typically exit the locomotive and make the long (typically 1.5 to 2.7km), arduous walk to the rear of the train to ensure that the area at the rear of the train is clear and free from obstacles both prior to and during reversing.
[0004] Drivers often are required to make the walk over unstable ground, at night or in adverse weather conditions. Invariably, drivers making the walk slip and are injured so that they cannot continue in their duties, which is particularly undesirable when at a remote location. Snakes can also be present and snake bites can occur.
[0005] It is an object of the present invention to provide a system to impede such injuries.
