Abstract

Abstract A stand-alone cash drawer encapsulating an internal system of a single ultraviolet light source, in conjunction with an automated response system, which upon the finalization of a transaction and the return of the cash tray to a closed state . The Cash drawer reduces the bacteria and viruses found on currency to protect employees and customer through the sterilization of the currency and the contents held with in. The cash drawer and system are engineered and designed to maximize the effectiveness and efficacy of the system in dispersing ultraviolet light through the facilitation of mirrors amongst currency reducing and elimination bacteria and viruses in which are found on the surface of monetary currency. Description

EDITORIAL NOTES 2014200465 There are three pages of the description only Description [0001] This invention relates to a box for currency with the inclusion of a sterilisation and sanitisation system for currency including bills, bank notes, coins and goods held with in. [0002] There are currently alternate products in the market that aim to reduce and eliminate the bacteria and viruses that are found on currency. Through the facilitation of a number of different methodologies further devices that have been disclosed. Currency transaction machines, which offer the ability to sterilize currency through performing high temperatures, exposing said currency to temperatures eliminating bacteria and viruses. Disclosure of a cash transaction machine in which performs receiving and paying transactions of bills through manipulation. A Currency sterilization apparatus set, which included the use of several ultraviolet lights in correspondence with an aerosol dispersal system in a transparent perforated box. Further disclosed system operates through the feeding of currency through a C-shaped feed path, internally mounted on rollers exposed to an ultraviolet source. A paper sterilization system through the placement of the paper in an input slot and further retracting through an output through the facilitation of internal belts system. [0003] In addition to the traditional cash drawer that is used for receipt and retaining, the invention further extends to the inclusion of sterilising and sanitising whilst still allowing for the dispensing of currency (bank notes and coins) without jeopardising the integrity of the products held within. [0004] The inclusion of an ultraviolet light source which is added to a traditional cash drawers reduces and eliminates the amount of bacteria and viruses that are found on currency. With currency (Bills/Notes and coins) being distributed through communities, countries and internationally, the bacteria and viruses that are spread between individuals posses a significant health risks to those that come into contact with currency. [0005] The aim of the present invention is to reduce the above-mentioned problem. The sterilization of currency through an ultraviolet light source offers significant health advantages to not only the employees of the business, but further to the cliental which have contact with currency. [0006] The preferred embodiment of the present invention includes a cash drawer comprising of a single ultraviolet light source 10 which upon the finalisation of the transaction and the retraction of the Notes and coin department an automated sanitising and sterilising of all contents and currency with held in the cash drawers. [0007] The aim of the present invention is to create cash drawers for currency with an automated internal sterilization and sanitisation system, that prior to forwarding of currency from one person to another person or entity can reduce or eliminate the transmission and circulation of known bacteria's, viruses, and other forms of disease.
[0008] The Cash drawers of the present invention is advantageous in that the bacteria and viruses are able to be eliminated or reduced by the use of an ultraviolet light source contained with in the cash drawer. The light is non intrusive and does not impede on the normal functioning of the cash drawers. The Light does not impeded on the structural integrity of the drawers and the contents held with in. The cash drawers reduce the bacteria and viruses that are on the currency. As a result reducing the spread of viruses and diseases passed from individuals creating a preventative approach in reducing out breaks of diseases and illnesses. [0009] The Cash drawer uses a single ultraviolet light source with the further inclusion of mirrors and or material that have reflective properties incorporated with in said cash drawer. The cash drawer uses mirrors placed on the external casing of the drawers and the use of reflective and or transparent currency dividers 222 which allow for an increase or decrease in the concentration of ultraviolet light to the currency and the goods held with in the cash drawer. [0010] The ultraviolet light source 10 with in the cash drawer may be of any suitable shape length voltage, wattage and location in which is applicable to the requirements. Preferably the use of a single ultraviolet light source, located between the currency notes and coins 11 as outlined in the drawings of the invention . [0011] Each mirror that is contained with in each cash drawer may be of any suitable shape or length applicable to the requirements. [0012] The ultraviolet light source 10 is a preferably quartz glass product but may extend to the use of ultraviolet LED (Light emitting device) source. Any suitable and appropriate ultraviolet light-producing source or sources. [0013] The automation or the ultraviolet source is a direct result of the retraction of the cash tray with in the cash drawer. [0014] The number of notes/bills allocation sections 220 is not restricted to size or number due to the varying number of denominations in which different countries currencies require. [0015] The number of coin allocation sections 221 is not restricted to size or number due to the varying number of denominations in which different countries currencies require. [0016] The automation of the ultraviolet light is designed in conjunction and communication with an activation method, a timer, an ultraviolet light source and a power supply.
[0017] Embodiments of the invention will now be described solely by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1 illustrates the downward view of the cash drawer and the components held with in. Figure 2 illustrates the front view of the cash drawer and the components held with in. Figure 2 illustrates the side view of the cash drawer and the components held with in.
