Abstract

The innovation in this design is that this wrap is placed around the person under the arms (female) or around the waist (male) before the commencement of undressing and remains in place to the completion of the showering or toileting thus maintains privacy throughout the entire process of personal hygiene. The pre and during shower wrap is an oblong piece of cotton material with a wide hem on top/long side threaded with elastic with a Velcro attachment placed at each end Post shower wrap is an oblong piece of towelling with a wide hem on the top/long side threaded with elastic with a Velcro attachment placed at each end Made in sizes from extra large 150 cm x 100 cm down to small 80cm X 50cm or personalised sizes to suit an individual person 1 Procedure for use when showering Prior to undressing female person explain what you are about to do Place cotton wrap around the person under the armpit attach Velcro at the back explain you are about to remove upper garment pull upper garment nightie or shirt up from under the wrap and remove. Working from beside of the person explain what you are about to do lift the bottom flap to the side and take pants down. The person is now ready to be escorted to the shower keeping the wrap in place to preserve dignity. Proceed to shower the person using the wrap in place of a face washer rubbing soap into the wrap and washing the person. Once washing is completed place the towelling wrap over the top of the cotton wrap undo the cotton wrap and allow to fall away. Using the towelling wrap dry the person and begin redressing with the wrap in place once underclothes pants and shirt or singlet are on take the towelling wrap away and complete dressing process Prior to undressing male person explain what you are about to do Place the smaller cotton wrap around the waist attach Velcro at back take shirt off Working from beside of the person explain what you are about to do, lift the bottom flap to the side and take pants down. The person is now ready to be escorted to the shower using the wrap as a washer for genital areas proceed to shower the person Once washing is completed place the towelling wrap over the top of the cotton wrap undo the cotton wrap and allow to fall away.
