Abstract

Abstract The "Cufflink Hanging Device" has been designed primarily to enable cufflinks to be hung alongside shirts and suits in a wardrobe or a locker. Cufflinks are inserted into the holes in the hanging device, just as would be done in the holes of the shirts. Its secondary purpose is to provide a suitable way to travel with cufflinks and provide protection to inserted cufflinks while traveling. The cufflink hanging device achieves the above objectives by being long enough to hang from a variety of heights and still have cufflink holes that hang low enough so that cufflinks are easy to reach. The device will also be slim enough to fit comfortably in a hand. The top portion of the cufflink hanging device will provide a hanging mechanism, for example a hook or a clip or a combination of both. Figure 1 0 0: 0 [0 El

Description

ORIGINAL COMPLETE SPECIFICATION Innovation Patent Application Invention Title: "CUFFLINK HANGING DEVICE" 1 CUFFLINK HANGING DEVICE Field of Innovation [001] This innovation relates to a hanging device, with the purpose being to insert and / or attach cufflinks. Background to the invention [002] Conventionally cufflinks are kept in cufflink boxes. These boxes may comprise of different compartments to limit the amount of movement and interaction between cufflinks, but even so cufflinks can still rub against each other or collide with each other causing varying amounts of damage, and move around causing pairs of cufflinks to be broken up. [003] Cufflink boxes are usually located on top of a piece of furniture, which takes up space on that furniture, and is generally not within reach of where shirts are kept, being a wardrobe or locker. [004] Cufflink boxes are unsuited to being inside a wardrobe or locker where the shirts are kept, as the box would be on the floor of the wardrobe or locker, which would give it and cufflinks stored inside a higher possibility of being damaged by falling objects, be in a difficult position to reach, and be hindered and obscured by hanging clothing articles. [005] Cufflink boxes are conventionally unsuited for travel, being quite heavy, bulky and delicate. [006] Cufflink boxes can sometimes only have one compartment for all cufflinks, which makes it is difficult to find a pair of cufflinks. Summary of the invention [007] The invention provides a solution to the above mentioned technical problems, solving the damaging effects on cufflinks that can occur when placed and kept in cufflink boxes by separating the cufflinks and ensuring they don't come into contact with each other, provide a convenient way to access cufflinks both in proximity to the wardrobe or locker where shirts are kept and in finding a pair easily and quickly, and 2 to provide a way of travelling with cufflinks that provides a level of protection and organisation. [008] Therefore in one form of the invention there is a proposed hanging device that cufflinks are inserted into without damaging them. [009] This device would also give protection to the cufflinks when travelling with them. [0010] Preferably there will be a strap like component with several holes and slots that will not cause damage to the cufflinks when inserted into them. [0011] This device will have the ability to be hung up, possibly by means of a clip or hook at one or both ends, to give the device the ability to be hung. [0012] In absence or conjunction with the clip or hook described above, the device will provide a way to allow the strap to be connected to a separate hook or clip component. Brief description of the Drawings [0013] In order that the invention may be well understood, some embodiments thereof, which are given by way of example only, will now be described with reference to the drawings, in which: [0014] Figure 1 is a perspective view of the device. [0015] Figure 2 is an exploded view of an adaptation of the hanger component of the device. [0016] Figure 3 is another exploded view of an adaptation of the hanger component of the device. [0017] Figure 4 is yet another exploded view of an adaptation of the hanger component of the device. [0018] Figure 5 is an exploded view of the cufflink holding component of the device.
3 Detailed Description of the Drawings [0019] In reference to the drawings, Figure 1 shows the full Cufflink Hanger Device, with point 1 being the component of the device that gives it a hanging property, and point 2 being the component of the device that cufflinks are inserted into. [0020] Figure 2 shows the hanging component of the device in an open position, with point 1 and 3 being joining parts so that the component can fold over at point 2 to make a loop, which can be used to hang the device, including but not limited to attaching onto clothes rails or a separate hook component. [0021] Figure 3 shows the hanging component of the device in a closed position, with point 1 being the looped part of the hanging component, and point 2 being the joining of point 1 and 3 of Figure 2. [0022] Figure 4 shows the hanging component of the device with a possible fixed hook position, which can be used to hang the device. [0023] Figure 2 and 3 (being one type) and Figure 4 show different possibilities of what the hanging components could be designed as. [0024] Figure 5 shows the bottom component of the device that is used for inserting cufflinks into. [0025] Point 1 of Figure 5 shows a possible positioning of two holes where a pair of cufflinks could be inserted.

Claims (5)

1. A device which has the ability to be hung and is used for the storing of cufflinks, the device consisting of: one or more components that are used for hanging the device (hanging component); one or more components that are used for storing the cufflinks (storage component); and a structure that connects the components together.
2. A device as claimed in claim 1 that can carry and / or protect cufflinks while traveling or commuting.
3. A device as claimed in claim 1 and 2 where the hanging component can be detached from the connecting structure of the device.
4. A device as claimed in claim 1 and 2 where the storage component can be detached from the connecting structure of the device.
5. A device substantially as herein before described with reference to Figure 1 of the accompanying drawing.
