Abstract
A decorative (1) finger-ring (3) with distress or danger switch [2] and [7], to alert security contacts or nearby persons by turning the switch with the wearers thumb thereby activating an inserted microchip with satellite and mobile phone connective capability [5] sending the GPS location of the wearer with a SMS distress alert every 60 seconds until the wearer or a nominated security contact disarms the danger signal by sending a secret passcode to the receiver inserted within the ring. As well as a distress siren through the loud speaker function within the ring [8] will be activated when the wearer turns the distress switch using their thumb of the same hand as is wearing the ring. A rechargeable battery will be inserted inside the ring during manufacture which can be recharged via an outlet [4]. 1. THE INVENTION TITLE [00011 The invention title is a Danger-ing. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [00021 A Danger-ring is a fashionable hand ring for women and men with an inbuilt safety device that is a one-press personal alarm which activates a distress signal with the GPS location of the wearer and alerts a group of people by SMS that the wearer is in danger or distress and activates an optional loud alarm noise signal. [0031 The wearer's location is mapped by GPS and the SMS distress alert sent every 60 seconds until the wearer or a nominated security contact can disarm the signal by sending a secret SMS pass-code to the danger-ring. [0041 The optional feature of a noise alarm continually rings until the wearer or security contact send a disabling SMS pass-code to the microchip inside the ring [0051 The Danger-ring has a recharging facility with an inbuilt rechargeable battery with a detachable battery-recharger. [006]The external Danger-ring decorative feature shall very in color, shape and size as common fashionable hand rings however the distinguishing features of a Danger-ring are the internal electronic mechanism which alert to the distress or danger of the wearer as mentioned above. BACKGROUND TO THE INVENTION [0061 Vulnerable people to distress or danger by a violent attack, especially the elderly and women will be able to alert security contacts to their attack or distress with minimal movement by activating the alert switch on their danger-ring. When attacked or in medical distress, the victim may not be able to reach or have enough mobility to call for help with a device that is not attached to their body. As a fashionable item, the danger-ring is particularly suitable as a security-alert device for women as a discrete and attractive type of jewelry. The alert switch is activated by the thumb flicking the activating switch on the ring-finger or little finger off the same hand, depending on the dexterity of the wearer.

- 2. CLAIMS 1. A safety - alert device placed on a finger and activated by a thumb on the same hand of a wearer provides minimal movement to alert security contacts or passers-by of danger or distress due to a medical condition or the threat to personal safety of a violent attack. 2. Incorporating a fashionable or decorative feature on top of the danger-ring will make it more likely to be worn by young women travelling alone at night from social events to their home.
- 3. The danger-ring could save the lives of people in distress or danger by incorporating an easily activated alarm facility to safe and security contacts
- 4. The danger-ring could provide valuable information to lead to the apprehension of perpetrators of violence by storing information concerning the whereabouts of the victim.
- 5. The danger-ring may prevent acts of violence with the incorporation of a loud alarm noise to alert nearby persons of a call for assistance
- 6. The danger-ring may save lives of the elderly or medically vulnerable by alerting carers of medical distress
