Description
Editorial Note 2013101111 There are 6 pages of Description 1 Description: pg 1 of 5 The Morphit is a universal multipurpose case for electronic devices. A Universal Case to improve the visibility and use of the device it holds. I Leonard Craig Bland have invented an innovative improvement to a cell phone, tablet or other hand held electronic device case. Prior Art: There is no prior art as to the Morphit case as it is the first of its kind. Description Summary Statement: The "Morphit" is a multipurpose universal case designed for a cellular phone, computer tablet or other hand held electronic device. Its purpose is to provide better viewing and flexibility for the user. Some of the unique features include a pliable aluminium body for optimal flexibility and cooling with built in tabs serving as a universal device holder for different sized devices along with its built in adjustable magnifier for better viewing.
2 Description: pg 2 of 5 Advantages: (01) Prior to this invention a standard user of a cell phone or other hand held device had very few options in regards to a universal case for their electronic devices. As most are made for each individual design rather than for a one size fits all approach. The Morphit case design provides a unique function in that when the tabs are folded to encompass the device placed within. It will hold most if not all cellular phones and other hand held electronic devices in a firm non cumbersome manner. (02) Prior to this invention people with vision impairments have struggled to see their electronic device screens without the aid of glasses. This innovation corrects that problem by utilising a built in adjustable magnifier lens that provides optimal viewing for those that are vision impaired. And does not hinder performance or functionality of the device placed within. (03) Prior to this invention the user of a cellular phone, tablet or other hand held electronic device with a viewable screen had limited options with the placement of their devices to only flat surfaces. Prior device cases only had kick stands or folding apparatuses to hold their device hands free at limited angles. With my innovation the Morphit with its flexible aluminium core can be morphed into many different shapes for hands free viewing and stability on a vast variety of angles and different surfaces that do not have to be flat.
3 Description: pg 3 of 5 (04) Because the core and holder of the device is made of a heat distributing flexible metal that comes into direct contact with the device it also provides a unique additional benefit of helping to cool the device down when applications are pulling a drain on the processor or battery of the device. We have also included two straps in the design to accommodate an optional fan to help even further with this innovation which would be especially beneficial to larger devices placed within. The straps can also be used for an optional battery pack. Detailed Description: (05) The said case (Fig 1) is to consist of a pliable flexible aluminium core fig (Fig 6) and (Fig 1 - 20) as to where material is to be placed on both outer sides of the core (Fig 1 - 8) and affixed to each other forming a case for a hand held electronic device to be placed inside. This will allow full movement in many directions for the said case to be multi positional and flexible for easy standing on its own in otherwise unsuitable environments. (06) Because the said case is made of such a pliable material there is no need for a hinge as the material will bend freely (Fig's 1, 6 - 28) yet have a long lifespan due to the material's strength. Two straps will be in place along the fold for future use of an optional battery backup device or fan insertion into the straps. (Fig 1 - 26) 4 Description: pg 4 of 5 (07) A portion of the core consisting of the holder and cooling pad (Fig 6 - 16) is bent from the core sheet to make a dual layer and partially left exposed for the holder to be formed, cut and utilised. (08) The said attached holder for a device to be placed in will have tab's (Fig's 1, 6, 7 - 24) cut from the folded portion of the core that formed the dual layer. These tabs can be bent to hold the said electronic device in place. (09) The holder shall then be adhered to the other layer it is adjacent to forming a solid foundation. (Fig 6 - 16) (10) The magnifying viewing lens insert (Fig 5) Will consist of a magnifier (Fig 2 - 2) With a sliding rod on each end of the back side fig (2 - 4) As to allow free movement of the lens up and down the railing's of the insert (Fig3 - 6) The rear edge of the lens will have a 45 degree wedge angle along the rear where the rods are extended (Fig 4 - 10) This will allow it to open and close freely, stand on its own and be fully adjustable up and down for optimal viewing through the lens.
5 Description: pg 5 of 5 (11) The insert (Fig 5) will be encased in a suitable material to match the overall case shell (Fig's 1, 4 - 8) (12) The opposite side of the said viewing lens insert can have flaps for the insertion of credit cards, money or whatever purpose they may desire with the intention of performing the function of a wallet. This will have a surrounding edge of Velcro (Fig 5 - 14 ) That will adhere to the said case inner shell (Fig 6 - 14) (13) The lip of the said viewing lens insert (Fig 5 - 12) is designed to fit into the slot (Fig 6-18) of the said Morphit case Sequence Listing Figure 4 = lens complete Figure (Fig) 2 lens 6 railings Reference points and descriptions for drawings: 8 shell Page 1 of 4 10 lens wedge Figure 1 = Morphit Universal case. 2 lens Page 3 of 4 6 railing Figure 5 = Lens insert 8 case shell 12 Insert tab for a lens insert. 10 lens wedge holder 14 back of lens insert Velcro 22 bare platform core 24 tabs Figure 6 = Core assembly 26 straps 14 Velcro 28 bend 16 visual illustration of fold for holder 18 slit for insert of (Figure 5 - 12) Page 2 of 4 = Lens diagram 20 Core Figure 2 = lens 24 tabs 2 lens 28 bend 4 pins Page 4 of 4 Figure 7 universal Device Holder Figure 3 = railings & assembly 20 Core 2 lens 22 bare centre of the core 4 pins 24 tabs 6 railings Figure 8 = Case for holder 6 railings & 10 Wedge.
