Description
1/1 DESCRIPTION OF 3-POINT HOME VEHICLE TURNER This invention relates to a platform structure which can be located in the front or rear section of a house left or right driveway for carrying a home vehicle by means of ball transfer units which run on tracks fixed to concrete floor having as a main object to turn said vehicle 1800 doing three 600 counterclockwise or clockwise 5 swings pivoting around alternately two spring loaded pivot pins P1 and P2 as shown in Fig 1 fastened to said platform at the longitudinal centre line and lining up approximately with said home vehicle's axles respectively. One of said pivot pins connects to one of three pivot bases PB1, PB2 and PB3 as shown in Fig 2 when in swing motion and both said pivot pins connect to two pivot bases at the end and 10 beginning of each 600 swing motion. Said pivot bases centres are arranged as vertices of an equilateral triangle and fixed to concrete floor as shown in Fig. 2. An inlet slot IS shown in detail A-A allows said spring loaded pivot pins only into each pivot base and an outlet slot OS allows said spring loaded pivot pins only out of each pivot base. The said triangle's side is equal to the distance between pivot pins 15 P1 and P2. The advantageous features of this invention are 1. The full operation of 1800 turning of said vehicle can be achieved by light force from a person 2. The said home vehicle never needs to use reverse gear avoiding potential injuries and/ or deaths 3. The said home vehicle can park in the same location within the said home's 20 property land and no modifications are needed on said home's front fence. This invention comprises three main components 1. a platform structure . Said platform comprises four support bases SB1-SB4 shown in Fig.1 supporting the weight of said vehicle through its wheels, two traverse longerons TL1, TL2 and one longitudinal longeron LL. Said support bases comprises four ball transfer units BTU 25 each. Two spring loaded pin assemblies P1 and P2 are located on the longitudinally centre line of said platform and lining up with said home vehicle axles respectively 2. three pivot bases PB1-PB3 fixed to concrete floor shown in Fig.2 . Said pivot bases connect to pins P1 or P2 stopping them from reverse swing movement at the end of each swing movement but allowing them to move freely into the beginning of 30 the next swing movement 3. a series of tracks whereon said ball transfer units BTU run carrying the weight of said platform structure and said home vehicle. The said home vehicle is parked as in the usual way pointing away from the footpath as shown in Fig 3 at the start of the operation of this invention. The first 600 counterclockwise swing movement around pivot base PB2 is achieved by pushing 35 above the front right hand wheel of said vehicle until P1 connects to pivot base PB3 as shown in Fig4. The second 600 counterclockwise swing movement around pivot base PB3 is achieved by pushing above the rear left hand wheel of said vehicle until P2 connects to pivot base PB1 as shown in Fig 5. The third and last 600 counterclockwise swing movement around pivot base PB1 is achieved by 40 pushing above the front right hand wheel of said vehicle until P1 connects to pivot base PB2 as shown in Fig 6. At the end of this last movement the said home vehicle is pointing to the footpath and ready to leave the home driveway in the preferred forward direction.
Claims (5)
1. A platform structure which can be located in the front or rear section of a house left or right driveway for carrying a home vehicle by means of ball transfer units which run on tracks fixed to concrete floor having as a main object to turn said 5 vehicle 1800 doing three 600 counterclockwise or clockwise swings pivoting around alternately two spring loaded pivot pins P1 and P2 fastened to said platform at the longitudinal centre line and lining up approximately with said home vehicle's axles respectively.
2. A platform structure according to claim 1 further comprises one of said pivot pins 10 connects to one of three pivot bases PB1, PB2 and PB3 when in swing motion and both said pivot pins connect to two pivot bases at the end and beginning of each 60"swing motion.
3. A platform structure according to claim 2 further comprises said pivot bases centres are arranged as vertices of an equilateral triangle and fixed to concrete 15 floor.
4. A platform structure according to any one of the claims 1,2,3 further comprises an inlet slot IS which allows said spring loaded pivot pins only into each pivot base and an outlet slot OS which allows said spring loaded pivot pins only out of each pivot base. 20
5. A platform structure according to claim 3 further comprises the said triangle's side is equal to the distance between pivot pins P1 and P2.
