Abstract
Abstract This invention is a bionic product combining traditional urinals with bionic technology. More specifically, it relates to lotus effect. Using this bionic technology, urinals have a self-cleaning ability which is non-dependent on flushing water.
Description
1 AUSTRALIA Patents Act 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION INNOVATION PATENT BIONIC NO FLUSH URINALS The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me: 2 Bionic no flush urinals Technical Field [0001] This invention is a bionic production combining traditional urinals with bionic technology. More specifically, it relates to lotus effect. The lotus effect, first notice in the leaves of the lotus, is a self-cleaning, water-repellant property found in some plants. Water droplets roll off the surface and take contaminants with them. Background Art [0002] In general terms, urinals use either a flush system or chemical cleaning pills. This invention uses high water repellency material exhibited by lotus leaves. Urinals using these kinds of materials are super hydrophobicity and self-cleaning enabling urine to roll off without direct washing. At the same time, urine is unable to adhere on the surface of the urinals, thereby inhibiting odor. That is the reason why this no flush urinal works. This invention reduces water usage without negatively impacting on the environment since the invention is chemical free. Super hydrophobicity materials have been used in large-scale industrial production in recent years. Some of them are liquid based so that they can be applied to solid surfaces.
3 By using this method we can retrofit existing urinals by painting or spraying super hydrophobicity material onto them. Besides, we can use this type of technology to produce new type urinals, and then install them in toilets. This invention can reduce water usage and relieve water shortage pressures. In contrast, super hydrophobicity material does not have a negative environmental impact comparing chemical cleaning pills. Summary of Invention [0003] This invention applies high water repellency material to urinals. Urinals with these kinds of material, which are super hydrophobicity and self-cleaning surface means that urine will not adhere on the surface of urinals, thereby diminishing odor. This innovation method can also be used in existing urinals; there is no need to replace your urinals. The bionic no flush urinals can be retrofitted to existing urinals. Description of Embodiments [0004] Super hydrophobicity materials are able to be used in large-scale industrial production. Some super hydrophobicity materials are liquid based and be applied to solid surfaces. These super hydrophobicity materials can be painted or sprayed on urinal surfaces.
4 Examples [0005] Products with this kind of innovative method, can be installed in privative properties or public places, such as hotels, shopping malls, schools, and office buildings. Currently, these super hydrophobicity materials are being used in some glass productions, such as shower rooms.
