Abstract Porous media assisted precombustion chamber for air-compressing, autoignitiing indirect injection- type internal combustion engine. One or couple porous plates in the prechamber heated by one or couple of glow plugs are provided in the path of the fuel spray but downstream from the point of injection nozzle so as to necessitate substantially all of the injected fuel spray to pass through the porous members before the main body of spray leaving the porous members starts to burn.
