Abstract

Abstract Energy Saving Device

Description

1 Description The innovation relates to an energy saving system created by the connection of an electronic time-clock/contactor (the DEVICE) and an electric hot water system. The innovation is in the application of the DEVICE to the electric hot water system which regulates power to the system under the desired controlled timing, eliminating wasted heating during periods of non-use. The principal advantage of this innovative construction is that the DEVICE used in this manner overcomes load pressures on the timeclock allowing it to regulate the power supply to the element in the hot water system.

Claims (2)

1. The innovation herein described and illustrated below relates to the connection of two pre-existing products and the newly available function created by the innovative connection. The two pre-existing products, 1. Electronic Timer (essentially an electronic programmable time clock able to activate the Contactor), and 2. Contactor (An electronically controlled switch used for switching a power circuit, similar to a relay except with higher current rating) are connected (creating the DEVICE) and used to regulate power supply to 3. a hot water system (creating the INNOVATION). Any number of varieties and brands of the aforementioned products exist and could be used in the innovation. The DEVICE is then wired (see illustration below) to the existing hot water feed between the Meter Board and the hot water system , both on the incoming active hot water feed and the returning neutral line. The above description relates to the details of construction shown in the drawings but it will be readily understood by those skilled in electronics / Referring now to schematics; 1 electronic timer,2 contactor,3 hotwater system appliance or device
2. An innovative connection substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings. DATED this 17th day of august 2011
