Description

4481-1.doc A TV with Built-in Game Function BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention 5 The present invention generally relates to a TV with built-in game function, and especially to a combination of hardware and program which enables the game operation executed inside the TV, and provides game control via exterior game playing devices. Therefore, the present invention is applicable to varieties of TV or 10 display devices. 2. Description of Related Art Playing games on TV had been a popular and attractive recreation for people of all ages since long time ago. It goes without saying that game production is still a very profitable 15 business. So far, game playing device often adopts a cord to connect with the TV via the AV terminals. The game playing device, equipped with buttons or joy-sticks control, might have a memory space or a slot to fit a game memory card. The structure of combination between the game playing device and the TV did 20 not change a lot as compared to the prior arts even the TV had been enhanced from CRT to LCD. Due to the above-mentioned connection type, the cord connects the game playing device and the TV usually will not be too long. However, through the mass-production and the support 4481-1.doc -2 of TV technology, TV has become cheaper in price and bigger in size. TV with larger screen has become more and more popular. It results that the game players keep a shorter distance from the screen. And, poor eye-sight is perhaps the most concerned 5 side-effect of this modern recreation. Furthermore, the players have to collect or change different game card or memory to enjoy the pleasure of game playing. Thus, in view of the above problems, the present invention aims to provide a combination of a TV with game software 10 installed inside. The game player can still have a game playing device with a longer cable connection or with a wireless game control device to keep a better distance from the TV. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION 15 The primary objective of embodiments of the present invention is to provide a TV with built-in game function, which comprises a control circuit board and a screen, wherein the control circuit board is further containing an image processing unit, a media encoding/decoding unit, a game processing unit and a 20 memory. The game processing unit connects with the memory, and enables reading and execution of the game program stored in the memory. The media encoding/decoding unit operates the audio and video format conversion for the under-processing game program which stored in the memory, and passes the conversed 4481-1.doc -3 video format to the image processing unit for further image output treatment. And, the image processing unit finally presents the processed game program via the TV screen and then the present invention carries out the built-in game operation and function. 5 Another objective of embodiments of the present invention is to provide a wireless control unit, which is configured on the control circuit board and is electrically connected with the game processing unit to receive the operation and control signal from the external wireless game control device and to enhance the 10 practical function of the present invention. To achieve the said purpose, embodiments of the present invention provides a TV with built-in game function which is primary comprising a control circuit board and a screen, wherein the control circuit board is further containing an image processing 15 unit, a media encoding/decoding unit, a game processing unit and a memory. The game processing unit connects with the memory, and enables reading and execution of the game program stored in the memory. The aforesaid game processing unit also connects with the media encoding/decoding unit which operates the audio 20 and video format conversion from the processed game program, and transmits the conversed video format to the image processing unit for further image output processing. Finally, the image processing unit presents the processed game program via the TV screen and carries out the built-in game operation and function.
