Description

Brief Description of Drawings FIG.1 illustrates a side elevation of a low centre of gravity magnetic clamp in which Item A is the housing or body of the clamp. Item B is the multi-pole, laminated magnet element and Item C is a pipe mounted perpendicularly to the clamp to house and retain a vertical post. Item C could alternatively be a bracket to which a vertical post or member can be bolted. Item D is a roller and Item E a lever attached to the body of the clamp by means of axle F. Item G is a spring-loaded pin to prevent accidental action of the lever-roller device. In an alternative embodiment Item B is an on/off switchable permanent magnetic clamp.

Claims (8)

1. A low center of gravity magnetic clamp employing multiples of shallow field magnet elements and having upon it at least one fixture for attachment of perpendicular posts.
2. A low center of gravity magnetic clamp having multiples of shallow field magnet elements and having at least one fixture being a short tube disposed perpendicularly on the magnetic clamp and into which vertical posts can be positioned.
3. A low center of gravity magnetic clamp as described in claims 1 and 2 above having multiples of shallow field magnet elements comprised of neodymium or other rare earth magnet material interleaved with soft iron or steel laminations to form a repeating North South North South pattern along the magnetic face.
4. A low center of gravity magnetic clamp as described in claims 1 to 3 above having multiples of shallow field magnet elements comprised of neodymium or other rare earth magnet material in ring or disc form and housed within a soft iron or steel cup to provide both an outer and an inner magnetic pole.
5. A low center of gravity magnetic clamp as described in claims 1 to 4 above and having a roller release mechanism with accidental release prevention.
6. A temporary safety fencing system wherein the vertical posts are attached to or housed in or to a receptacle fixed upon a magnetic base.
7. A temporary safety fencing system as described in Claim 6 wherein the said magnetic base is one or more multi-pole permanent magnets.
8. A temporary safety fencing system as described in Claim 7 wherein the said magnetic base is at least one permanent magnetic clamp of the on and off switchable type.
