Description
AUSTRALIA Patents ACT 1990 Standard Specification SOLAR WATER HEATING ASEPTIC WATER FILTER SYSTEM The invention is described in the following statement SOLAR WATER HEATING ASEPTIC WATER FILTER SYSTEM FIELD OF THE INVENTION This invention relates to sterilising drinking water (filtering out legionella bacteria) for solar water heating system. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION This design entails an aseptic water filter which can be incorporated into current solar hot water systems in the market to render the water free of Legionella bacteria thereby making the water safe. This design is suitable for all current pressured and sealed solar hot water systems. Current models use a gas boosted system to increase the temperature of water to 70"C or above in order to kill Legionella bacteria present prior to use of the water. Installing the water filter will get rid of this need for gas boosting and therefore save energy. THE WORKING PRINCIPLES Use of an aseptic water filter to filter out Legionella bacteria or other bacteria in solar hot water systems. The aseptic water filter can be installed the different locations in solar hot water systems (See figures A, B, C and D. which are 4 versions to describe the different locations where the aseptic filter may be installed). DESCRIPTION OF FIGURES A, B, C and D. Figure A: An aseptic water filter (1) installed on the cold water entry or on the cold water supply pipe in the solar hot water system. Figure B: An aseptic water filter (3) installed between the solar water heater system and Gas booster. Figure C: An aseptic water filter (4) installed between the Gas booster and the thermostatic valve in the Gas booster solar hot water system. Figure D: An aseptic water filter (5) installed on the hot water outlet of the thermostatic valve in the solar hot water system (including Gas Boosted solar water heater system). CLAIMS 1. A solar water heating aseptic water filter system installed in any solar water heating system on the cold water entry or on the cold water supply pipe with reference to accompanying Figure A.
2. A solar water heating aseptic water filter system installed in any Gas Boosted solar water heater system between the solar water heater system and the Gas booster with reference to accompanying Figure B. 3. A solar water heating aseptic water filter system installed in any Gas Boosted solar water heater system between the Gas booster and the thermostatic valve with reference to accompanying Figure C. 4. A solar water heating aseptic water filter system installed in any solar water heater system (including Gas Boosted solar water heater system)on the hot water outlet of the thermostatic valve with reference to accompanying Figure D. 1. A solar water heating aseptic water filter system installed in any solar water heating system on the cold water entry or on the cold water supply pipe with reference to accompanying Figure A.

A solar water heating aseptic water filter system installed in any Gas Boosted solar water heater system between the solar water heater system and the Gas booster with reference to accompanying Figure B.
