Description

AUSTRALIA Patents Act 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION Standard Patent Applicant (s) ADOLF WIEBECKE Invention Title: DEVICE FOR LOCALLY INFLUENCING THE EARTH'S MAGNETIC FIELD The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method for performing it known to me/us: - 1A The invention relates to a device for locally influencing the earth's magnetic field, and also to the use thereof for arrangement in a sitting and/or lying element. Since the middle of the 1 9 th century, the earth's magnetic field has continuously been observed in magnetic observatories, over 200 laboratories currently being active worldwide. This involves recording with high precision the development of the magnetic field over time. It has been observed that the strength of the earth's magnetic field has decreased since 1830 by almost 10% and by about 6% in the last 100 years alone. The earth's magnetic field currently has a strength of approx. 30 pT at the equator, whereas this sum is almost doubled at the poles. Furthermore, the examination of sediment layers has revealed that the polarity of the earth's magnetic field is reversed every 4,000 to 10,000 years. In a pole leap of this type, a change of species of microorganisms was found accumulated in corresponding examined sediment layers; the change in the magnetic field is believed to cause DNA mutations. Generally speaking, magnetic or electromagnetic fields are also known to influence the well-being of living creatures, in particular human beings. Thus, for years there have been magnetic arm bands which increase well-being; magnetic field therapy is also known, in which painful diseases are treated using the effect of a local magnetic field. Now, the object of the invention is to provide a device which utilises the known positive effects of local magnetic field to increase well-being without thereby having a complex construction or else necessitating the supply of additional energy, for example. According to the invention, this object is achieved by a device of the type mentioned at the outset in that at least two projections are arranged on a planar basic element at two mutually opposing edges, for example, the projections each having a wavy structure and an element influencing the earth's magnetic field being arranged on the basic element. The present device according to the invention is a substantially planar element which is preferably embodied as a rectangle, the projections being arranged at two mutually opposing edges and being designed preferably at an inclination to the plane of the basic element. The element which influences the earth's magnetic field and is arranged on the basic element is for example a permanent magnet or else a piezo element which builds up a local electromagnetic field when subjected to compressive loading. The task of the element influencing the earth's magnetic field is to locally strengthen the increasingly weakening earth's magnetic field, this locally strengthened magnetic field preferably acting on specific regions of the user's body. It has thus been -2 found that by strengthening the magnetic field in the region of the root chakra, the user of the device according to the invention noted an increase in his productivity and generally has more energy. In a pilot study, the applicant has found that in test persons who sat for 15 minutes on a seat cushion in which the device according to the invention was arranged, without the subjects being aware of the cushion's presence, in a subsequent evoked electrophoton gas discharge visualisation (GDV) a significant improvement occurred in the human energy field (HEF), in contrast to photographs of test persons that were taken after sitting on a non-prepared seat cushion without the device according to the invention. The method developed to evaluate the effect of the invention was developed at the State University of St. Petersburg (KOROTKOV K.: Human Energy Field Study with GDV Bioelectrography. Backbone Publishing, St. Petersburg, 348 pages, 2002; Dobson P. and O'Keefe E.: Int. J. Altern. Complem. Med. 7, 12-17, 2000; Hacker et al., Forsch. Kompl. Med. 12, 315-327, 2005). This method provides a highly reproducible, physical-biomedical parameter for analyses of the "relative effectiveness of various stress interventions" (Korotkov, 2002). Complementary medical meridian analyses of the GDV corona projections produced in this method subsequently also provide information about which organ systems are influenced and in what manner. The sequence of the GDV measurements may be described as follows: Each test person sat for in each case 15 minutes on a seat cushion with the device according to the invention, as well as on a seat cushions without locally influencing the earth's magnetic field; neither the test persons nor the person carrying out the GDV measurement were told which of the seat cushions the subjects sat on and at what time. Immediately after the 15-minute sitting phase, GDV measurements were carried out, wherein the corona discharges were recorded at the ten fingertips of both hands by means of a highly sensitive GDV camera and subsequently evaluated via appropriate software. This revealed that what is known as the GDV area of glow parameter, which according to the literature is a parameter for the reduction of stress, increased significantly when the test person was sitting on the seat cushion provided with the device according to the invention. The authors of the study, Univ. Prof. Dr. Gerhard W. HACKER and HR Prim. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Gernot PAUSER, therefore concluded that sitting on a seat cushion equipped with the device according to the invention for locally influencing the earth's magnetic field has significant effects on the test person's state of health or well-being.
- 3 In a first embodiment of the invention, the element influencing the earth's magnetic field is a permanent magnet preferably having a magnetic field having substantially triangular field line structures. This builds up a multipole magnetic field which is modelled on the earth's natural magnetic field. Alternatively thereto, in a further embodiment of the invention, the element influencing the earth's magnetic field is a piezo element which builds up a local electromagnetic field when subjected to compressive loading. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the basic element and also the two projections are made of an electrically conductive material, in particular of spring steel. This basic element, which functions as a carrier for the element influencing the magnetic field and has the two projections, strengthens the generated magnetic field like an antenna, and accordingly also the effect of the device according to the invention. Furthermore, this antenna function is strengthened in that the electrically conductive material of the basic element and also the projections is additionally magnetised. A further improvement in well-being may be achieved with a further embodiment of the device, in which the surface of the basic element that faces the element influencing the earth's magnetic field and also the projections are coated with dust-like particles, in particular made of crystal and/or metal dust. Different crystals, such as for example mountain crystal, rubies, diamonds and many more, are generally known to influence the energy state of the human body. Similar effects are also known from metals such as gold, silver, copper, etc. Alternatively or else additionally, a further embodiment of the invention provides for crystals to be arranged in the troughs of the wave-shaped structure of the projections, wherein crystals of one sort or else different crystals can be used. The device according to the invention for locally influencing the earth's magnetic field is provided in particular for arrangement in a sitting and/or lying element, in particular in seat upholstery, mattresses and seats of vehicles and sports equipment. As a result of the arrangement of the device in sitting and/or lying elements, the device preferably acts on the root chakra, and thus heightens the well-being of the person sitting or lying down; the test persons frequently report that they have more energy and drive. The invention will be described hereinafter in greater detail based on non-limiting exemplary embodiments. In the drawings: Fig. 1 is a plan view of a first embodiment; -4 Fig. 2 is a side view of the device from Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is an image of the magnetic field of the permanent magnet from Fig. 1; and Fig. 4 is a plan view of a further variant of the invention. As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the device 1 according to the invention consists of a basic element 2 and two projections 4 arranged at opposing edges 3, the basic element 2 and projections 4 being produced in this embodiment in one piece from a magnetised spring steel. The projections 4 have in this case a substantially sinusoidal wave structure 5, the wave spacing of which (trough to trough) is between 10 mm and 25 mm and the wave height of which is between 0.5 mm and 3 mm. The wave structure 5 directly influences the locally generated magnetic field in this regard. Furthermore, the plane of the projections 4 is arranged at a slight inclination to the plane of the basic element 2. A permanent magnet 6, the magnetic field of which is built up as illustrated in Fig. 3, is arranged at the centre of the basic element 2. The depicted structure illustrates the field lines of the magnetic field that form a substantially triangular lattice structure. The surface of the device 1 that faces the permanent magnet 6 is coated with diamond dust 7 and also gold particles 8. In the embodiment illustrated in Figure 4 of the device 1 according to the invention, crystals 9, in particular crystals 9 having a high silicon content such as quartzes or for example tourmalines having a diameter of from 0.5 mm to 2 mm, are arranged in the wave troughs of the projections 4 The device according to the invention can for example be arranged in seat upholstery of items of furniture or in seats of vehicles, wherein it preferably acts on the root chakra located in the pelvic region. Its positive influence on general well-being and also its invigorating effect make its application beneficial in particular in sport by way of integration in bicycle saddles, for example, or else in back protectors, for example. When used in mattresses, it has been found to be advantageous to arrange the device according to the invention in the foot region because it has a calming and less invigorating effect at this location.
