Description

Description Brief Description of Drawings FIG. 1 is a plan view and elevation of a grate type magnet as decribed in the Specification where Item A is a frame, typically stainless steel and of such size as to retain the stainless steel tubes, Items B which contain magnetised elements. Items C are plates of non-magnetic stainless steel or plastic such as nylon having holes, Item D, of larger diameter than the tubes (Item B) and in which the tubes rest preferably on a low-friction circumference edge formed by chamfer or taper. Item E is a detachable end plate which can be retained to frame Item A by screws or other suitable means such as quick release clips in order to assist removal of the tubes for cleaning.

Claims (5)

1. A grate or grid type magnet constructed in such a way that the stainless steel tubular elements rest at two or more points on a surface which allows them to roll on their circumference.
2. A grate or grid type magnet constructed in such a way that the stainless steel tubular elements rest at two or more points on a surface which allows them to roll on their circumference within a hole of larger diameter than the diameter of the tubular element.
3. A grate or grid type magnet constructed in such a way that the stainless steel tubular elements rest at two or more points on a surface which allows them to roll on their circumference within a hole of larger diameter than the diameter of the tubular element and where the larger diameter hole preferably has a chamfer or angle forming a relatively sharp resting point to minimise friction.
4. A grate or grid type magnet as described in claims 1 to 4 above in which the tubular elements are retained by an outer frame or end plates.
5. A grate or grid type magnet as described in claims 1 to 4 above in which the stainless steel tubular elements are retained by an outer frame or end plates and in which one or more of the end plates are removably fixed to said frame so that the tubular elements can be easily withdrawn for purpose of cleaning off collected iron particles.
