Description
Patent Description Specification & Diagrams 14th April 2009 Specification / Description Original Provisional patent No: 2008 901868 Filed : 15/4/08 Invention Title: Attika Pedimat Applicant: Stephen Nicholas Catsicas Inventors: Stephen Nicholas Catsicas & Oksana Lovricheva The invention consists of 3 parts: Part I The Mat shown as (A Diagram 1&2) Part 2 The Insert shown as (B Diagram 1&2) Part 3 The abrasive material shown as (C Diagram 1) this material is sourced externally and is of existing manufactured materials, Part I (as above) This is known as the mat or base of the mat. It is made of flexible rubber, plastic, pvc or polyurethane and is either injected or poured into moulds designed and manufactured by the inventors of this application. The underside has a non slip multiple suction surface, The upper side (A2 Diagram 1&2) is also designed to have a non slip surface. The non slip surface (A2 Diagram 1&2) is due to raised lettering of the name Attika and Company Logo. The centre recessed area of the mat (Al Diagram 2) allows for the insert (B Diagram 1&2) to be inserted neatly and flush with the surface of the mat. The mat has a basic standard perimeter size and shape being rectangular 350mm x 270mm. However this external shape and measurement can vary depending on which design is required. The mat can be produced in many various colors. Part 2 (as above) This is known as the insert. The insert (B Diagram 1&2) is made of plastic, polyurethane, pvc, abs or nylon and is either injected or poured into moulds designed and manufactured by the inventors of this application. It is designed to fit neatly into the recessed area of the mat (Al Diagram 2). It is a press fit and once inserted both surfaces (A2 Diagram 1&2) and (B Diagram 1&2) arm flush with each other. It has a recessed area (B1 Diagram 2) that allows for the abrasive material (C Diagram 1) to be adhered too. The insert can be interchanged to allow for color co-ordination, replacement or variation of abrasive textures. The insert can be produced in many various colors. Part 3 (as above) (C Diagram 1) This is either an abrasive waterproof paper or an impregnated abrasive material added at the time of manufacture to area (Bi Diagram 2). Both materials are sourced externally and are already in the market place. Page 1
