Description

AUSTRALIA Patents Act 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION STANDARD PATENT EASY EXERCISE CYCLE The following statement is a full description of this invention.
Easy Exercise Cycle Intellectual Property of Mason Sipe Standard Patent Application 12/02/2009 For many years exercise bikes and machines have been used indoors, these have consisted of conventional bicycles being mounted on stands. They have been cumbersome, expensive and uncomfortable for many people. This invention has been designed to provide a more comfortable, practical, convenient and cost effective way of exercising. The Easy Exercise Cycle (see Fig 1) is an invention that is intended for use when a person is seated (e.g. on a lounge or dining chair) or (where a person is unable to sit) lying down. The Easy Exercise Cycle is intended for fitness use and may also be suitable for therapeutic purposes. The Easy Exercise Cycle is constructed of metal, plastic and rubber, but is not limited to these materials and may be constructed of any suitable material. The Easy Exercise Cycle is placed on the floor in front of a chair (see Fig 2), or at the end of a mattress (see Fig 3) and the user then places their feet on the pedals and cycles the Easy Exercise Cycle. The claims defining the invention are as follows: 1. An Easy Exercise Cycle, comprising a free standing bicycle pedal assembly (including a left and right pedal and crank), which is unique in that there are no attached handlebars, seat or wheel (see Fig 1). 2. An Easy Exercise Cycle as claimed in claim 1 where a structural frame holds the pedal assembly (see Fig 1). 3. An Easy Exercise Cycle according to any claims 1 & 2 where a base is provided that the structural frame and pedal assembly is mounted upon (see Fig 1). 4. An Easy Exercise Cycle according to any of the claims 1-3 where an optional feature is an adjustable mechanism that increases or decreases the ease of rotation of the pedals (see Fig 1). 5. An Easy Exercise Cycle according to any of the claims 1-4 where an optional feature is an odometer (see Fig 1). 6. An Easy Exercise Cycle substantially as herein before described with reference to Fig 1 of the accompanying drawings.

Claims (6)
