Description

1 DESCRIPTION REUSABLE 6 VOLT LANTERN BATTERY CASE For many years the 6 volt lantern battery has always been a sealed use once device for the use in devices such as lantern torches. This invention allows the individual cells, that being 4 ???D??? size battery cells, to be replaced once the cells had become exhausted. The 6 volt lantern battery used in most hand held torches has essentially been a throw away product that had to be replaced when the battery was exhausted. The reusable 6 volt lantern battery case is of a simple design containing nothing more than conductive paths within the case to effectively connect 4 ???D size??? batteries in a ???series circuit??? to give the desired 6 volts output in a case that is designed to fit in electrical devices that are designed to house a 6 volt lantern battery. The case consists of four (4) compartments to house the 4 ???D??? size batteries in a design that is not an adapter but is a case the same physical dimensions as a normal 6 volt lantern battery. The case, being an electrical housing, is preferably to be constructed of an insulating material such as plastic and due to the low voltage is non hazardous and can function in wet or damp conditions. The device can be better understood with the attached photographs, figures 1 thru to 6, taken from different angles to show the battery compartments and conductive paths, with figure 7 showing the internal electrical connections and conductive paths.

Claims (3)

1. A battery case physically the same dimensions as a sealed 6 volt lantern battery comprising of four (4) battery compartments to house 4 ???D??? size batteries.
2. A battery case as claimed in claim 1, wherein the 4 ???D??? size batteries are linked in a ???series circuit??? via internal conductive strips to produce the required 6 volts output via two (2) spring terminals on top of the case.
3. A battery case according to any claims 1 and 2 wherein the case be constructed of an insulating material.
