The Australian Tax Office oo states outdoor workers can now claim some sun protection o products as work expenses. As more people are becoming aware of the damaging effects of the sun, sun protection is a growing 00oo market.

2 Until now, women have been limited to sun protective garments.

o Traditional sun protective garments are high at the front of the oo neck. Some women say the high at the neck is uncomfortable, 0 restrictive and/or unflattering. These women choose not to wear a 0 sun protective garment, preferring to be in the sun with out a sun protective garment rather than wear one that is high at the neck.

Sun protective garments on the market that have zippers at the front would seem to solve this problem. In some cases it has, although some women choose not to wear these, as the zip is uncomfortable for activities such as surfing.

The Cancer Council Australia states, "Slip on some sun-protective clothing- that covers as much skin as possible". The Cancer Council rightly endorses high at the front of the neck but the high neckline is not possible for some women. These women are exposing themselves to the sun's damaging rays and not modeling sun safety to their children.

The high neckline is important for general wear in the sun, but not necessary for activities such as freestyle swimming, or walking and gardening with a wide brimmed hat.
