SPECIFICATION
INNOVATION
PATENT
ILLUMINATED
DWELLING
NUMBERS
WITH
GLASS FILTERS The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of application known to me: Complete Specification Innovation Patent COMS ID No: ARCS-206978 Received by 113 Australia: Time 13:24 Date 2008-09-22 Illuminated Dwelling Numbers M Rtlhtuwi;,-h 00 O ILLUMINATED DWELLING NUMBERS SWITH GLASS FILTERS This invention has been specially designed in order to provide a house dwelling C number that is clearly visible at all times and in all conditions. The invention not only has many functional benefits by providing a clear, illuminated dwelling number which will enable individuals to easily locate a residence, but will also Sminimize the risk to other individuals on the road and pedestrian paths as drivers O trying to locate a residence in the darkness can inadvertently cause an accident.
O0 in addition to the functional benefits, this invention has taken into consideration 0 the aesthetic requirements of the Owner by providing a unique design that adds to the overall fabric of the residence by using materials of the highest (and most durable) quality and by allowing for a variety of fonts and interchangeable coloured glass filters.
An illuminated dwelling number in accordance with this invention consists of three main components including the container with an open top that is recessed into the wall which contains the light source, the interchangeable glass filter that is fixed to the light box and lastly the number plate with the dwelling number laser cut out to facilitate the illumination of the coloured glass that is fixed to both the light box and wall (this will be flush with the wall, it does not sit proud of the wall), The illuminated dwelling number requires a 12-volt power supply that can easily be connected to the garden lights by a licensed electrician. To work effectively, a halogen light or LED of 10-20 watt is required which will provide illumination for up to 3000 hours. The operation of the light can be restricted to nighttime hours only with the use of a timer.
Complete Specification 2 Innovation Patent COMS ID No: ARCS-206978 Received by IP Australia: Time 13:24 Date 2008-09-22 Iltlminatcul tlhnrellino N~!mbers M. Belobraydich 0 0 The invention is made from stainless steel and 3-4mm thick coloured glass filters.
SAll metal components are made from stainless steel that is suitable to the Q external environment. All other elements are compatible with the stainless steel.
r. The coloured glass filters consist of many various patterns and colours with the C Owner given the opportunity to select from the range of various colours patterns and font selection for the laser cut numbers.
CI Please refer to the attached illustrations and comments below that will provide a 0better understanding of the invention and the various components of said invention.
00 SFigure 1 contains an illustration of the invention in 3D format whilst Figure 2 details an elevation of the invention. Figure 3 is a sample of the number plate and Figure 4 is an internal view of the light box. Figure 5 details the various components as a cross section while Figure 6 provides a view from the top and bottom..
The light box 1 is recessed into a new or existing wall. It contains the electrical elements 2 and light globe 3 necessary to illuminate the individual dwelling number. The required wires to be connected to the power source protrude through the bottom of the light box 1. The light box 1 has nutserts 6 in each comer to facilitate the fixing of the glass filter screen 5 and number plate 4 to the light box 1 with screws. By using nutserts, this enables the Owner to change the glass filter screen 5 without removing the entire light box I from the wall.
The glass filter screen 5'consists of two glass filters, the white colourbacK Insert 7 which is then covered by the nominated coloured glass 8. The glass inserts to the glass filter screen 5 are fitted within the metal surround I border of the screen which then allows the glass filter screen 5 to act as a lid when fixed to the light box 1. Within this metal surround a rubber seal is fixed so that when the screen is fitted to the light box 1, it effectively makes the light box 1 watertight.
Complete Specification 3 Innovation Patent COMS ID No: ARCS-206978 Received by IP Australia: Time 13:24 Date 2008-09-22 Illuminated Dwelling Numbers M- Belobraydich The number plate 4 with the dwellings number laser cut out is then fixed to the screen 5, light box I and wall with the required fixings.
If desired, this invention can also be used without the light box 1, so that only the glass filter screen 5 and number plate 4 are fixed directly to the wall. However this option will not provide the same functional benefits as the illuminated option.
