Description

AUSTRALIA
Patents Act 1990 Complete Specification Innovative Patent IMPROVED FISHING LURE The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me: IMPROVED FISHING LURE Many fishing lures rely on flash and vibration to attract fish and entice the the fish to bite the lure. This invention has been specially devised in order to provide an improved fishing lure where flash and vibration of the lure are maximised to enhance fish attraction and to further entice the fish to bite the lure. This improved fishing lure is unique in that it provides a three way combination of flash and vibration in a new configuration of various fishing tackle components.
The fishing lure in accordance with this invention comprises a weighted fishing hook that is dressed with a silicone skirt and soft plastic trailer lure. The weighted fishing hook is fitted with a hinged blade through the eye of the fishing hook. A wire harness is fitted to the hinged blade by a crimp connection through a tow plate which is inserted through a slot in the hinged blade. The wire harness provides amenity for attachment of two fishing iure blades via a swivel. The assembled fishing lure blades and swivel are attached to the wire harness via a coiled wire connection bend in the wire harness. The fishing lure blades are positioned side by side during normal use and spin providing flash and vibration to the improved fishing lure. The hinged blade also provides significant flash and vibration to the improved fishing lure. The combination of the two fishing lure blades with the hinged blade provides an improved fishing lure action to further enhance fish attracting qualities of the improved fishing lure. Fishing line is tied to the wire harness of the improved fishing lure.
The Improved fishing lure is cast in the water and retrieved at a steady rate causing the fish attracting qualities of the lure to work and hence attract fish.
The improved fishing lure is made from a variety of materials. The fish hook is weigihted with lead, lead alloy or tungsten alloy. The hinged blade and tow plate can be made from sheet metal or various sheet plastic products such as lexan. The wire harness is made from spring stainless steel wire or any suitable wire product. Swivels used to connect the fishing lure blade to the wire harness are commercially available as are the fishing lure blades, silicone skirt and soft plastic trailer.
The invention may be better understood with reference to the illustrations of embodiments of the invention which: Figure 1 is a view of the completely assembled Improved Fishing Lure.
Figure 2 is a plan view of the hinged blade and tow plate.
Figure 3 is a plan view of the wire tow arm which is a component of the wire harness.
Figure 4 is a plan view of the wire blade arms which is a component of the wire harness.
Figure 5 is a diagram of the assembled wire harness configuration (wire towing arm and wire blade arms), hinged blade and tow plate.
A weighted fish hook (jig head) is dressed with a silicone skirt and soft plastic trailer combination 8. The weighted fishing hook is fitted with a hinged blade I by inserting the hinged blade into the hook eye through a hole in the bottom of the hinged blade 12. A tow 2 plate 2 is inserted into the hinged blade slot 11 and held in place by a crimp 9 which is used to close the open end on the wire towing arm 3 through the hole in the tow plate 2. The wire towing arm can be no less than 40mm in overall length and not more than 90mm in overall length. Wire blade arms 4 are assembled with wire towing arm 3 to complete the wire harness configuration. The assembled wire harness configuration has the purpose of towing the weighted hook and also of housing spinner blades and swivels. The swivels 6 and spinner blades 7 are assembled and are attached to the wire blade arms 4 of the wire harness by a coiled wire connection 5. The completed improved fishing lure is towed through the water by tying fishing line to the closed wire eye
