TITLE
S"A CAMPER" O FIELD OF THE INVENTION _This invention relates to a camper trailer. In particular, the invention relates to an awning used on a camper trailer that provides shelter CI from the elements.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Camping has become a very popular pastime of millions of Australians. One way in which many people camp is to tow a camper trailer to a desired location. Camper trailers are quick to set up and access.
(I Further, camper trailers provide more comforts in a single convenient unit that is "ready to go" at any time.
Campertrailers utilise tents to provide sleeping accommodation for persons using the camper trailer. During the day, the tent is typically not used with most people sitting adjacent their tent on chairs around a table enjoying nature. Accordingly, most camper trailers have an awning that extends off a side of the accommodation section of the tent to provide protection from the elements, such as the sun and the rain.
The awning requires poles, ropes and pegs to hold the awning in position. In order to erect the awnings, poles are located adjacent the corners of the awning. Ropes are then attached to the poles and pegs located within the ground. The ropes are then placed are the pegs to hold the poles in position.
The problem with most awnings that are associated with the tent of a camper trailer is that they are time consuming to set up. Further, once the poles, ropes and pegs are in their desired position, they form a tripping hazard when moving around the camper trailer.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the invention to overcome or alleviate one or more of the above disadvantages orto provide the consumerwith a useful or commercial choice.

CI Preferably, the camper trailer includes at least one fastening system that enables corner portions of the awning to be folded and held underneath the awning.
Preferably, the fastening system includes at least one hook strip and one loop strip.
Preferably, there are two fastening systems located on the awning.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a camper trailer having an erected tent and awning according to an embodiment of the invention; FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of a camper trailer having an erected tent with an awning having flaps in a fastened position; and FIG. 3 shows a perspective view of a support pool attached to an awning pole.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFFERED EMBODIMENT FIG. 1 shows a camper trailer used for camping. The camper trailer 10 includes a storage box 20 for storing articles, such as refrigerators, fuel tanks and food items, and a camper box 30 from which a canvas tent is erected.

c support the awning 50. Two support poles 70 are connected to respective t awning poles 50 and the camper box 30. FIG. 3 shows a close-up view of a O support pole 70 attached to the awning pole 60. J-clamps 71 are used to Oconnect the support pole to the awning pole to allow movement between the support pole 70 and the awning pole c- Two camper trailer poles 80 are located at the front of the ocamper trailer 10 to support a front of the awning 50. The camper trailer poles 80 are supported by the camper trailer 10. Two corner poles 90 are located at respective comers of the awning 50 when the awning is in a open position. The corner poles 90 are supported by ropes and pegs in a N standard manner. The corner poles 90 are located through eyelets (not shown) located within the awning Two fastening systems 100 are located underneath corner portions 51 of the awning 50. Each fastening system 100 includes two hook strips 101 and two loop strips 102. It should be appreciated that the location of the hook strips and loop strips may be varied as would be evident to a person skilled in the art.
Each fastening system allows the corner portions 51 of the awning 50 to be folded beneath the awning and be held in this position as shown in FIG. 2. The fastening system operates by the hook strips engaging with the loop strips (Velcro T M to hold the corner portions 51 in a fastened position.
In use, the tent 40 is erected from the camper box in a normal manner. The awning poles 60 are located within awning tabs 61 located on the awning. The awning poles are extended outwardly as need to fully support the awning 50. The attached support poles 50 are then located within housings 51 located on the camper box 30. Camper trailer poles are then located within eyelets of the awning and extended to a desired position.
A person now is able to choose the remaining configuration of the awning 50. If the wind is low and the awning solely to provide solely sun COMS ID No: ARCS-165509 Received by IP Australia: Time 16:30 Date 2007-10-19 19/10 2007 16:36 FAX 61 7 3221 0597 FISHER ADAMS KELLY []007 S4 C-i or dew protection, then corner poles 90 are not required. The fastening c, system 100 is then used to hold the corner portions underneath the awning O 50 in the fastened position. Accordingly, no corner posts with ropes or pegs are required to support the awning In stronger wind conditions, the corner portions of the awning C-i are able to be unfastened and moved to an open position in which corner poles 90 are located through eyelets in the corners of the awning 50. Ropes and pegs are then able to be attached to the corner poles 90 in a standard fashion.
The awning 50 of the camper trailer 10 provides a quick and CI effective way in which to provide shelter. In low wind conditions, no corner poles 80, ropes or pegs are required. However, in higher wind conditions, the awning 50 is versatile in nature so that it can be supported by additional poles, pegs and ropes so that the awning will not flap in the wind.
It should be appreciated that various other changes and modifications may be made to the embodiments described without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention.
