DESCRIPTION
INNOVATION PATENT CHOCOLATE CARD The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me: Chocolate Card Complete Specification Innovation Patent Pg l of 4
DESCRIPTION
People like to commemorate important events in people's lives and businesses, such as weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, corporate achievements, occasions uch as Valentines Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Christmas and show their appreciation and affection for others by sending gifts and social or business expression cards, such as greeting cards. Likewise, chocolates are frequently used gifts at such commemorative events.
SBoth, greeting cards and chocolates are well known and the marketplace for Sthese products is highly competitive.
Chocolate gifts are often accompanied by a card or note upon which the giver of the gift can write a personal message to the recipient. The card might be adhesively attached to the chocolate packaging, or might be secured by a ribbon or cord which wraps the packaging.
This invention relates to a new type of composite gift product a Chocolate Card, and particularly to a gift product comprising a greeting card and chocolate block in a single-piece carton design.
The greeting card component of the invention comprises: a) a front double-walled hinged panel of the carton. The hinged panel has an front surface which is visible and printed with different works of art, designs, images and/or words to convey sentiments when the panel is in a closed position.
b) an inside panel that provides a brief introduction to the work of art. It also has slits to hold a business card or gift card, where used for business gift giving.
c) front wall of the carton component facing the inside panel and provides a writing surface for a personalised message by the gift giver. This can be viewed when the hinged panel is in its open position.
The carton component of the invention comprises: d) The front wall of the carton, as described in c) above which has tuck-in flaps on the top and bottom, that secure the chocolate block within. The chocolate block is wrapped in a re-sealeable plastic bag or may be flow or foil wrapped.
Chocolate Card Complete Specification Innovation Patent Pg2 of 4 Se) The side and back walls of the carton are printed with nutritional, product, 4 branding and marketing information.
Thus, the entire new gift product, the chocolate carton, the greeting card, and the chocolate block, convey the common personal sentiment of the gift giver.
CA
It is a first object of the invention to provide a composite new gift product comprising a greeting card and chocolate block placed in an integrally formed -carton.
SAnother object of the invention is to create a hinged greeting card and chocolate bar carton through a single-sided print process. This is achieved by designing a double-walled cover for the greeting card component, which is formed by folding together and pasting two panels of the carton blank.
A further object of the invention is to provide a chocolate bar packaging with structural integrity which may be opened and closed repeatedly for consumption of the chocolate over multiple sessions, without significant wear on the components or contamination of the partially consumed chocolate block.
A still further object of the invention is to promote awareness and appreciation of visual pleasures of art and design together with the taste pleasures of chocolate.
A yet still further object is to create a 'novel' presentation for a premium quality chocolate block.
In summary, all of the embodiments of the Chocolate Card disclosed herein provide the common benefit of a composite new gift product comprising a greeting card so formed and assembled as to include a chocolate block in a carton. A personal message may be pre-printed, handwritten or affixed as a printed label on the inside panel of the carton.
For ease of handling, display, and mailing in an envelope, the Chocolate Card will be relatively flat and not bulky in its fully assembled condition with a flat chocolate block inside the carton. Tuck-in wall flaps over the opposite ends of the carton hold the chocolate block within the carton.
Chocolate Card Complete Specification Innovation Patent Pg3 of 4 As sold and displayed by gift, card, or other retailers, the Chocolate Card will Sbe folded and secured in its fully assembled condition with a chocolate block ,1 contained within the carton. Thus, no special folding, securing, or assembly is p required by the retailer or user.
