Description

EDITORIAL NOTE 2007100083 There are two pages of description including the cover page.
AUSTRALIA
Patents Act 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION INNOVATION PATENT.
TANK AND POOL FILLER WATER DIVERTER.
The following statement is a full description of this invention including the best method of performing it known to me.
Customer No. 8110191029 Description TANK AND POOL FILLER.
This invention applies to the diversion of rainwater, that (after a shower of rain) would ordinarily flow down a downpipe and into the street or stormwater.
This invention allows large amounts rainwater to be stopped at will from going 00 down the drain and redirected to swimming pools, water storage tanks, fishponds, lawns, gardens etc. The rain waters' downward flow is able to be Ostemmed by means of a gate and diverted via one or two outlets to wherever it is needed.
OThe device is fitted into a down pipe. The top of the device fits into the upper downpipe and the bottom of the device fits into the lower downpipe to prevent leakage.
The device has two parts and either can be used jointly or separately depending on the application.
Both parts fit into each other or directly into a downpipe.
There are two main outlets to divert the water and the top outlet can be used as a safety overflow.
There are two external levers to facilitate opening or closing the internal gates On each part internally there is a gate which sits at an angle to provide the most efficient way of catching any available water.
A gate within each part of the device is either opened to allow the rain water to flow down as usual or closed to prevent the water running down the down pipe. If closed, water is diverted to the respective outlet pipe It is designed to fit all standard Australian down pipes and fittings.
The device is made from industry standard materials as used in Australian plumbing pipes and fittings.
Adaptors can be utilised to allow the fitting of many and various other pipes and used in many other applications such as fire fighting.
