Description
Description Emergency Assistance Request (Similiar to Nursecall) employs commercial GPS location technology and transmitts the location of the device (carried by the user patient) to a GSM network provider in a form of a Short Message Service (SMS) once the Emergency Assistance Request (EAR) is activated. The GSM Network provider will re-transmitt the request as defined by the customer-patient profile to either contact next of kin, despatch ambulance or request emergency medical assistance on site. GPS co-ordinates are translated into a addresses by the GSM network provider prior to request being re-transmitted.
SMS will be transmitted every 60 seconds untill such time as assistance is provided and EAR is deactivated.
The Emergency Assistance Request (EAR) is capable of use over a private monitoring network such as in home or retirement village. EAR will monitor the available networks to which the request can be sent appropriatly send the request to the appropriate network. An example would be where the EAR was activated in a home environment where home monitoring was installed then the request would be transmitted only to the in-home system. In this case no SMS would be sent to the GSM network provider.
