FIGURE 1: Shows the SharePoint Folder being displayed in Outlook. The software application described in 1 provides a drop down menu item entitled SharePoint within S Microsoft Outlook. The Microsoft SharePoint url displays the Microsoft SharePoint document library page in Outlook with the emails and/or documents being displayed within this page 4. The SharePoint folders create by the software application are displayed in the Microsoft Outlook menu tree and will allow a user to drag and drop emails from their inbox and/or other folders into this menu 3.
FIGURE 2: Shows the Webservices call to have emails sent from the SharePoint folders O in Microsoft Outlook into Microsoft SharePoint on the server. The Outlook application 0 and software application is hosted on the client system 5 and the emails are sent using via Webservices 6 to the SharePoint server 7.

Claims (9)

1. A software application that will allow a user to drag and drop emails from SOutlook (while still in Microsoft Outlook) into Microsoft SharePoint and will be an additional application and feature of the Microsoft Outlook software application.
2. A software COM add-in of claim 1 wherein the software will a SharePoint folder under the inbox menu in Microsoft Outlook so that emails can be dragged from an inbox or other folder and placed into SharePoint and when an email has been moved into this folder it will be automatically stored into a Document Library.
3. Further to claims 1 and 2 the SharePoint folder that is created in Outlook will pre O populate the url of the SharePoint document library into this Outook folder O providing a quick and easy way to store cmails and view them.
4. The SharePoint folder described in claims 1 to 2 in Microsoft Outlook provides O the ability to move emails to Outlook so the email is deleted from the harddrive of O the user when it has been saved into SharePoint.
The software application described in claims 1 to 4 will modify the Microsoft Outlook Menu system to provide folder and a drop down list within the tool bar to create access to the SharePoint functionality and will create the option to have a SharePoint Document Library folder in Microsoft Outlook.
6. The software application of claims 1 to 2 will display the relevant SharePoint Document Library in Outlook through the Outlook internet interface when the SharePoint folder has been added to the Outlook inbox.
7. The software application of claims 1 to 2 will allow a user to select the relevant SharePoint Document Library and will allow them to search and then select the relevant SharePoint Document Library.
8. The software application as described in claims 1 to 7 will use a Webservice to pass the emails from Outlook and to store them on the server in which the version of SharePoint is installed.
