Description

AUSTRALIA o) Patents Act 1990
C
GENERAL SPECIFICATION STANDARD PATENT ELECTRONIC CAR DE TECTOR SYSTEM Mircea Eugen Virgil CoCIUBAN Suite 4 181 Fitzgerald Avenue MAROUBRA, NSW 2035 The following statement is a summ ary description of an improved Car Detector Systemt for general security use and traffic monitoring on lights driven intersections 10 April 2006 SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION According to the present invention there is provided a vehicle detector adapted to be located on or above a road; a transmitter operatively coupled to the vehicle detector and adapted to wirelessly transmit information obtained from the vehicle detector; and a receiver for wirelessly receiving the information transmitted from the transmitter. Preferably the vehicle detector is adapted to be affixed on or above a road surface by epoxy glue. Preferably the vehicle detector is adapted to be at least partially solar powered or powered by a battery that is at least partially solar powered. Preferably the vehicle detector is located in the middle of a road line. Preferably the vehicle detector, the transmitter and the battery are housed in a high density polyethylene box. 2066115331 2 DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION C 'The Electronic Car Detector System is composed of: P- - Wireless Electronic Car Detector and Transmitter - Electronic Receiver Station - Various accessories The Wireless Electronic Car Detector is made up of a reduced scale car detector device, connected to an electronic transmitter. Both items are powered by an alkaline 1r- battery, with a minimum of two years lifetime. There is a signal warning a low voltage battery that requires to be changed. Optional, a solar battery can be provided, more expensive, but with a longer lifetime for the Detector. All this items are installed in a high density polyethylene box, resistant to poor weather conditions and a heavy traffic. The dimensions of this Detector are approximately 150 mm x 150 mm x 20 mm thick. This HDPE box is sticked on any type of flexible and rigid pavement by using epoxy based glue. The Electronic Car Detectors are placed in the middle of the road lines at around 2.00 to 3.00 in interval, as shown on enclosed drawings. The installation time of a complete set is no more than one hour for each traffic lights (see enclosed Implementation scheme) or four hours for a more complex configuration (industrial area). The Receiver Station collects all information regarding the location and presence of any vehicle (coming from the Wireless Electronic Car Detector) or any intrusion (coming from the Motion Detectors installed on walls). This electronic device is protected by a high density polyethylene box and is approximate 200 mm diameter and 100 imn high. It is also available in rectangular shape, with comparable volume. The Receiver Station is powered by alkaline batteries, solar panel or standard 240 V power. The Receiver Station is connected to existing traffic lights system or to the Security Desk by standard electrical cables. A various range of existing accessories can be than connected to this Electronic Car Detector System, like: warning siren, flashing light, telephone alert and so on. Also, the present Electronic Car Detector System is compatible with the existing computerised traffic monitoring system. The actual Wire Car Detecting System requires road's saw-cutting, which weakens the whole road structure, reduce its life time and increase dramatically the cost of road maintenance. As the Electronic Detector is wireless, it will be no more need to saw cut the road's pavement. The present Electronic Car Detector System is designed to improve the car detecting by using a very modern wireless electronic device, more reliable, easier to install & maintain and overall cheaper than any other existing system. 3 It is to be understood that any acknowledgement of prior art in this specification is not to be taken as an admission that this acknowledged prior art forms part of the common general knowledge in Australia or elsewhere. 2065115331 3a
