PATENTS ACT 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION FOR A STANDARD PATENT Name and Address of Applicant: Actual Inventor(s): Address for Service: Invention Title: Franco Liu, of 105, Chung Hsing Road, Lu Chu, Taoyuan Hsien, Taiwan Franco Liu Spruson Ferguson St Martins Tower Level 31 Market Street Sydney NSW 2000 (CCN 3710000177) Limit controlling and positioning structure for use in transmission of roller door The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me/us:- 5845c LIMIT CONTROLLING AND POSITIONING STRUCTURE
FOR
USE IN TRANSMISSION OF ROLLER DOOR Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a limit controlling and positioning structure for use in transmission of a roller door, and more particularly to a limit controlling and positioning structure combined to a driving motor so as to favor the maintenance and assembly, installation and maintenance and provide the roller door with an accurately controlled door position.
Background of the Invention As shown in FIG. 1, a conventional door position controller 2' of a transmission apparatus of a motor-driven roller door is mounted in one side of a stationary plate The door position controller 2' includes a transmission gear set 21', two cams 22', 23', a positioning cover 24', and two adjusting rods 25', wherein these two cams 22', 23' are respectively a small ring and a large ring and mounted in an inner-hole wall. When rotating, the cams 22', 23' touch two triggers 31' of a limit switch 3' respectively so as to control the top position limit and bottom position limit of the roller door respectively.
The cams 22' 23' are sleeved onto the shafts of the transmission gear set 21', and the positioning cover 24' is locked on the shafts of the transmission gear set 21' to lean against the cams 22' 23' and position them. Therefore, the cams 22', 23' are allowed to adjust a rotating pivot on the shafts of the transmission gear set 21' for obtaining a desired top limit position or a desired bottom limit position. The cams 22', 23' merely rely upon the friction force on the contact interface between the cams 22', 23' and the lateral surface of the positioning cover 24' to accomplish the positioning control and be rotated synchronously with the transmission gear set 21'. Therefore, after manually adjusting the limit position by use of the cams 22', 23', the positioning cover 24' must be locked again so as to increase the friction force on the contact interface and prevent the limit position from shifting for the purpose of securely positioning.
However, in this kind of positioning method, only a little gap is left between the hub stationary plate 1' and the wall so it is difficult to insert the locking tool into the gap for performing the locking and positioning processes, and the time required for the assembly, installation and maintenance is therefore increased. Besides, the cams 22', 23' are positioned by means of the friction force so the rotation shifts the limit position set by the cams 22', 23' and make it inaccurate when the screws become loose. Accordingly, the applicability of this conventional apparatus needs to be improved.
On the basis of the description mentioned above, the driving and control structures for door position of the motor-driven roller door are mounted on the hub stationary plate 1, and the rolling up and rolling down statuses of the roller door are controlled by driving the clutch through the transmission gear set 21' and the limit switch It is very complicated and inconvenient to perform the mounting and assembly on the hub stationary plate 1' with a small space. Therefore, the production, installation and maintenance cost of the prior art is very high. Besides, it is not easy to perform the limit adjusting processes during installation and maintenance. If it is desired to assemble or maintain this conventional apparatus, the spindle and driving plate of the roller door must be firstly disassembled in sequence.
Summary of the Invention It is a main object of the present invention to provide a limit controlling and positioning structure for use in transmission of a roller door so as to provide the roller door with accurately controlled limit position, wherein components, for example, the door position controller, an electronic pedometer, and so forth are mounted directly on the driving motor. Accordingly, the assembly, installation and maintenance of the roller door are easily applicable, and therefore the drawbacks of the conventional roller door that mounts components of transmission apparatus on the hub stationary plate are improved. Consequently, the production cost can be reduced, and it is convenient to adjust the door position of the rolling door.

Referring to FIG. 2 through FIG. 4, a limit controlling and positioning structure for use in transmission of a roller door of the present invention comprises a driving motor 1, a clutch 2, a c'.transmission main shaft 3, a door position controller 4, and a Selectronic pedometer 5, wherein the clutch 2, the transmission main shaft 3, the door position controller 4, and the electronic pedometer are mounted inside a housing 12 on the driving motor 1. A worm main shaft 11 is extended into the housing 12 from the driving motor 1 to rotate the transmission main shaft 3. In addition, numerous locking devices are utilized by the housing 12 to fix the driving motor 1.
The transmission main shaft 3 includes a gear 31 and a worm gear 32, wherein the worm gear 32 is penetrated by the transmission main shaft 3 and pivotally mounted in the center of the housing 12 in a rotatable manner, and the worm gear 32 is also engaged with the worm main shaft 11 for rotation together. The transmission main shaft 3 is further exposed to the outside of the housing 12 and securely engaged with a transmission gear 33 for mutual rotation.
The clutch 2 is pivotally sleeved on one end of the transmission main shaft 3 and capable of freely idling and sliding.
Accordingly, in the normal condition, the driving motor 1 drives the transmission main shaft 3 to perform transmission, but they do not rotate mutually.
The door position controller 4 is primarily mounted on the outside of the clutch 2 between the worm gear 32 of the transmission main shaft 3 and the clutch 2. The door position controller 4 comprises a transmission gear combination 41, which is composed of a first gear 412 and a second gear 414, wherein the first gear 412 and the second gear 414 include a first inner gear 411 and a second inner gear 413 respectively. The door position controller 4 is pivotally positioned on the inside of the housing 12, wherein several supporting shafts 121 are such mounted in the housing 12 on the driving motor 1 that the transmission gear combination 41 of the door position controller 4 and an induction plate 51 of the electronic pedometer can be pivotally sleeved thereon. After that, the transmission gear combination 41 and the induction plate 51 are pressed by a stationary board 122 and locked thereon, wherein several pillars 123 of the stationary board 122 are inserted into the supporting shafts 121 for positioning the transmission gear combination 41 and the induction plate 51.
The electronic pedometer 5 includes the induction plate 51 and a step sensor 52, wherein the induction plate 51 is pivotally connected to the supporting shaft 121 of the housing 12 and engaged with the second gear 414 of the door position controller 4 for synchronous rotation. The step sensor 52 is mounted on the housing 12 at a certain distance from the magnetic region of the sensing plate 51 for sensing and detection (referring to FIG. 2 and FIG. thereby enabling the step sensor 52 to output an pulse signal for calculating the driving time for forward and backward rotations by means of an integrated circuit of a control box, and thereby ensuring that door position limit control is accurate.
According to the description mentioned above, the detailed preferred embodiment of the present invention is shown in FIG. 5 and FIG. 6. These diagrams show the control and action relationships between the door position controller 4 and the electronic pedometer The worm main shaft 11 of the driving motor 1 is applied to drive the worm gear 32 of the transmission main shaft 3 to such rotate the transmission main shaft 3 that the gear 31 on the transmission main shaft 3 is rotated synchronously. During the rotation, the gear 31 also engages with the first inner gear 411 of the door position controller 4 to rotate it. At the same time, the first gear 412 also rotates the second inner gear 413. In addition, the second gear 414 engages with an inner gear 511 of the induction plate 51 to rotate it. By use of the accurate engagement and rotation between the gears of the transmission gear combination 41, the induction plate 51 can accurately calculate the rotation of the transmission gear combination 41, and the step sensor 52 can detect the action status of the magnetic region of the induction plate 51 so as to calculate the driving time for the forward and backward rotations for achieving the door position limit control of the roller door.
On the basis of the description mentioned above, the limit controlling and positioning structure for use in transmission of the roller door of the present invention is accurate in the limit position control of the roller door. Besides, the door position controller and the electronic pedometer are mounted directly on the driving motor, and therefore it is easier to assemble and maintain the roller door for improving the drawbacks of the conventional roller door that mounts the components of the transmission apparatus on the hub stationary plate, and for reducing the production cost. Consequently, more accurate and secure control is obtained since the door position limit control is performed by electrical automation.
While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been set forth for the purpose of disclosure, modifications of the disclosed embodiment of the invention as well as other embodiments thereof may occur to those skilled in the art. Accordingly, the appended claims are intended to cover all embodiments, which do not depart from the spirit 7 and scope of the invention.
