P/00/012 Regulation 3.2 AUSTRALIA Patents Act 1990 ORIGINAL COMPLETE SPECIFICATION INNOVATION PATENT Invention Title: "A CAMPER" The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me/us: 1 TITLE "A CAMPER" FIELD OF THE INVENTION This invention relates to a camper. In particular, the invention 5 relates to a tent of a camper. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Camping has become a very popular past time of millions of Australians. One way in which many people camp is to tow a camper trailer to a desired location. Camper trailers are quick to set up and access. 10 Further, camper trailers provide many comforts in a single, convenient unit that is "ready to go" at any time. Camper trailers are primarily set up by rotating the top of the camper taller to erect a canvas tent. Poles support the tent to provide a stable, weather resistant structure. A bed with mattress is typically provided 15 within the canvas tent as well as a solid floor area above which provides space for people to do certain activities such as change clothing. The space provided above the solid floor area is normally more than adequate for a single person to use. However, when more than one person is utilising the space above the solid floor area, then this space can 20 become quite cramped. In order to address this space issue, many campers have been produced with a larger solid floor area. However, this generally increases the length and/or width of the camper trailer when in a folder position. This makes travelling off-road more difficult. Further, a larger floor area often 2 increases the overall weight of the camper making running costs when travelling more expensive. OBJECT OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the invention to overcome and/or alleviate one 5 or more of the above disadvantages and/or provide the consumer with a useful or commercial choice. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In one form, although not necessarily the only or broadest form, the invention resides in a camper comprising: 10 a tent having a solid floor area; and at least one tent support pole extending upwardly adjacent an end of the solid floor area to support the tent; wherein the at least one tent support pole is obtusely angled with respect to the solid floor area. 15 Preferably, the at least one support pole is held in position by at least one support strut. Preferably, the at least one support strut extends upwardly from the solid floor area. Alternatively, the at least one support strut extends outwardly 20 from a centre pole of the tent. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Embodiments of the invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: FIG. 1 shows a side view of a camper trailer in a partially 3 unfolded position according to a first embodiment of the invention; FIG. 2 shows a side view of a camper trailer in an open position according to FIG. 1; and FIG. 3 shows a side view of a camper trailer in a partially 5 unfolded position according to a second embodiment of the invention. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT FIG 1 and 2 show a camper trailer 10 used for camping. The camper trailer 10 includes a storage box 11, for storing articles such as refrigerators and fuel tanks, and a camper box 12 from which a canvas tent 10 13 is erected. The canvas tent 13 is erected by rotating a top of the camper box 12 that causes a centre pole 15 to be extended upwardly from the camper box that supports a roof of the canvas tent. The top of the camper become a solid floor area 20 from which a tent extends upwardly. 15 An inverted U-shaped support pole 21 is pivotally connected to and extends upwardly from the solid floor 20 area adjacent an end of the sold floor area 20. Floor pivot pins 22 located adjacent ends of the support pole are is used to pivotally connect the U-shaped pole 21 to the solid floor area 20. The support pole extends through a sleeve located within the 20 canvas tent 13. Two support struts 23 are pivotally connected to opposite sides of the support pole 21. Strut pivot pins 24 are used for this purpose. Two floor mounts 25 are located on the solid floor area 20. The floor mounts 25 are spaced on the solid floor area 20 approximately an equal distance of the 4 spacing the two support struts 23. In use, the support pole 21 is held in position by placing the support struts 23 into the floor mounts 25. This keeps an end wall and roof relatively taught whilst keeping the solid floor area relatively uncluttered. 5 Further, removal of the support struts 23 from the floor mounts 25 and pivoting them so that they are located adjacent the support pole 21 allows canvas tent 15 and solid floor area 20 to be folded in and out of the camper box 12. An obtuse angle is formed between the support pole 21 and 10 the solid floor area 20 after the support struts 23 have been placed is the floor mounts 25. That is, the support pole 21 extends past a vertical edge of the solid floor area 20. By having the support pole 21 extending past the vertical, the entire space above the floor area 20 can be utilised as the end wall of the canvas tent is push outwardly. Hence, the effective space above 15 the solid floor area 20 is increased. FIG. 3 shows a further embodiment of the invention. In this embodiment, two support struts 23 are pivotally connected to adjacent the top of the support pole 21. The support struts 23 are also removable attached to the centre pole 15 to hold the support pole 21 compression and 20 also to allow for folding of the canvas tent 15 and solid floor area. This allows the support pole 21 to support the end wall of the canvas tent. Again, the support pole 21 extends past a vertical edge of the solid floor area 20 to form an obtuse an obtuse angle between the solid floor area 20 and the support pole 21.
5 It should be appreciated that of the tent can be supported by one or more support poles. Further, it should be appreciated that there may be one or more support struts that support the support poles. Still further, it should be appreciated location of the support struts may be in various other 5 locations so as to support the support poles It should be appreciated that various other changes and modifications may be made to the embodiment described without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention.
