Description

Innovation Patent 0 _Waterinq can with shut off valve
O
S1 Specification 1. Drought and water restrictions have brought into focus a need to conserve water.
Regardless of weather conditions, water is a limited resource and minimization of unnecessary water use is worthwhile.
2. This innovation patent is for a watering can containing a built in float valve to open and close the water supply to the can.
3. The valve system is operated by a float along the lines of a float that can be found in a C) toilet cistern or water trough.
o 4. The watering can is able to be attached direct by garden hose to mains pressure water 0 supply and when the can is full the float device built in, shuts of the water to prevent overflow and consequent water wastage.
The user can detach the can from the water supply and use the can as a normal watering can, and then reattach the can for filling without being concerned about overflow.
6. Alternatively the user can use the watering can with the water supply attached. As water is emptied from the can and the water decreases, the float lowers opening the valve and refilling commences until the cut of point is reached again, thus providing a constant volume of water to the watering can.
7. The main advantages are: saves water by preventing overflows; avoids having to carry water from the tap to the water destination when used with a hose attached; because the watering can is able to be used with the water supply constantly attached, the capacity of the can is able to be practically reduced making it lighter and easier for frailer people to use; has novelty appeal as well as being practical; and can be used as conventional water can.
