Description
DESCRIPTION
For many years opening the house door, garden shed or padlock in the dark was not easy. This innovation has been specially devised in order to provide quick and easy hassle free method in overcoming this issue.
This is achieved by the attachment of a powerful, effective high brightness Light Emitting Diode (LED) with a long lasting power supply from a lithium battery directly to the key.
The house key in accordance with this innovation comprises of a metal blank key and plastic head with build in high brightness LED, lithium battery compartment, and the switch. The head has a very slim and compact build and its ergonomic shape makes it very comfortable to use.
While pressing the button switch, LED produces a strong beam of light directed on the top of the metal key, making finding the keyhole straight forward.
The innovation may be better understood with reference to the illustrations of embodiments of the innovation with: Figure 1 Side view of key assembly.
Figure2 Front view of the key head.
Figure 3 Cross section view showing battery compartment, LED, and metal key lay out.
Figure 4 Detailed view of the switch.
House lighted key is build of metal blank key 1, inserted into plastic head 4. The head is made of two halves 3 4, and it is a sort of housing for the key 1, battery 7, LED 2 and switch 5. Parts 3 4 are joined together by four screws 6.
The metal key 1 has specially formed end for strong and secure fitting in the housing 4, and it can be easy replaced with minimum cost if needed.
Switch 5 is placed in the side of key head 3 in the conecave shape hole so outside surface of switch is below surface of the head 3.This protects against unintentional use of the light and therefore discharge of a lithium battery 7.
The head 3 4 can be made in many different colors to help with key identification.
To achieve slim line of the head 3 4 very simple and effective switch 5 has been designed .The button shape switch 5 is made as one part with flat plastic spring, and it works by pressing one of LED connectors directly to the surface of the lithium battery while the battery rests on second ones so electrical circuit is closing and light is produced.
