Complete Specification Innovation Patent PLUG PIN PROTECTOR The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of its application known to me: Appl No.2004904492 Page 1 of 8.
Plug Pin Protector Modem electrical tools are getting increasingly sophisticated and perform a variety of high demand, heavy duty or precision tasks. Though the tool itself is well encased, the only end that is not protected, until it is inserted in the wall socket is the plug pin. During storing along with other hardware or transporting, 0 these pins do get damaged resulting in the tool becoming dangerous or impossible to use. Current industry regulation requiring insulation at the root-end of the plug pins results in slightly narrower root-ends of both the positive and negative pins making them somewhat weaker and hence more susceptible to damage.
This invention has been devised in order to provide protection to the exposed plug pins so that when the Plug Pin Protector is engaged on the plug, the N pins are prevented from bending, breaking, misaligning and in addition preserving the shine and positive metal contact that is required to draw power.
The Plug Pin Protector in accordance with this invention comprises of a block, or a tablet, or a gouged out block of about 22 millimeters depth, on the front face of which three holes are made which are complementary and co-acting with the pins of the electric plug. The holes of the said Plug Pin Protector are of such size, depth and dimensions that when they are juxtaposed and engaged onto the plug pins, they engage positively and somewhat tightly resulting in a perfect snug fit of the plug pins to the said Plug Pin Protector.
For engaging and removing the said Plug Pin Protector to the electric plug, the back plane of the plug pin protector has an annular grip rim embodied along its edge of sufficient protrusion outwards that it lets the said device to be engaged or removed comfortably with a hand.
So that the said Plug Pin Protector is not misplaced when not used, and to enable it to be stowed near the electric plug end, a flange is embodied as an extension along the plug pin protector's back plane. At the tip end of the flange, which is made to be a little bit flexible, a key hole like cut of sufficient width is made to accommodate a variety of cables, so that the said device can be pressed gently to the cable and stowed on it when the plug pins of the tool are needed to be inserted to the wall socket for the intended business.
The said Plug Pin Protector is preferably made of polypropylene or other suitable material in a cylindrical shape. It can, however, be made in any shape besides cylindrical, such as triangular, square, or in a combination of shaped blocks for aesthetic looks. Instead of on solid block it can be made by gouging Appl.No.2004904492 Page 1.
C the inside of a block and providing sufficient support to the three pins by Sappropriately holed pillars and a housing around the work, still serving the prime task of protecting the plug pins when engaged.
The invention may be better understood with reference to the attached illustrations of embodiment of the invention which: 00 Figure 1 is the front elevation of the Plug Pin Protector with the three holes shown and the specific features numbered.
Figure 2 is the rear view showing the back of the plug pin protector as blank plane not letting the metal electric plug pins to protrude through but O enclosing the plug pins snugly when engaged.

Figure 3 is the side view which shows the depth or thickness of the Plug Pin Protector.
In figure 4, the normal pin-end of an electric plug with cable is shown where the insulated root ends 20 and 21 of the positive and negative pins can be seen.
In figure 5, the plug pins are juxtaposed and ready to be secured with the said Plug Pin Protector.
Figure 6 shows the Plug Pin Protector engaged and the plug pins secured.
In figure 7 the plug pin protector is stowed on the electric cable near the plug end while the plug is inserted in the wall socket for drawing power.
The Plug Pin Protector shown is cylindrical with the front 11 having three holes 12,13,14 which are complementary to the electric plug pins. When juxtaposed 22 with the electric plug and engaged as in figure 6 the Plug Pin Protector firmly secures the plug pins. To engage the Plug Pin Protector onto the electric plug comfortably by hand and to remove therefrom, an annular grip rim of sufficient protrusion 15 is made which is outwardly disposed. When the electric plug pins are thus secured with the said Plug Pin Protector, the end of the pins are not seen through as the back plane 16 covers the pins completely and due to the said Plug Pin Protector having thickness 19 which is slightly greater than the length of the plug pins.
When the Plug Pin Protector is not engaged on the plug pins, to keep it nearer to the plug within easy reach, a flange 17 is embodied as an extension on the back plane of the Plug Pin Protector, and the tip end of the flange which is somewhat flexible has a keyhole like cut made in it. By pressing the said Plug Appl.No.2004904492 Page 2.
Pin Protector onto the cable near to the plug end 23 with a gentle twisting motion Swith the keyhole end, the Plug Pin Protector gets hooked and stays there until removed. When the plug is removed from the wall socket the Plug Pin Protector can be taken away from the stowed position on the cable by a gentle twist and pull O action and be re-engaged on to the electric plug securing the pins until the next use of the electric plug.

Claims (4)
1. A Plug Pin Protector comprising a block or gouged out block having three holes on its front which are complementary and co-acting with the pins of electric plug, the depth and dimensions of the holes such that when the Plug Pin Protector is engaged on the plug it results in a somewhat tight and snug fit of the plug pins on the said Plug Pin Protector, without coming loose unintentionally. 00 Cc
2. A Plug Pin Protector as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the blank back plane has embodied on it an annular outward protrusion acting as grip rim to assist the Plug Pin Protector to be engaged onto the electric plug pins or removed comfortably.
3. A Plug Pin Protector according to any claims 1 and 2 wherein the back plane has an extending flange, somewhat flexible at the tip, with a key-hole like cut made at the flexible tip of the flange which assists in stowing the Plug Pin Protector on the cable averting misplacement when the electric plug is inserted in the wall socket.
4. A Plug Pin Protector according to any claims 1 to 3 which is made of polypropylene. A Plug Pin Protector substantially as herein before described with reference to Figures 1-7 of the accompanying drawings.
