Name of Applicant: CHAO-AN CHIU Actual Inventor: Chao-An CHIU Address for service in Australia: A J PARK, Level 11, 60 Marcus Clarke Street, Canberra ACT 2601, Australia Invention Title: ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SCRAP RUBBER WEED BARRIER CUSHION The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to us.

A conventional weed barrier cloth was designed with 00 c agricultural plastic adhesive plaster (no ventilation) or with sawdust, O coal cinder, PVC weed barrier net 1 to cover (as Figure however the 0 effects on all above-mentioned are not good, which cannot restrain the 0 c weed from overgrowing effectively; at the same time the weed is a to nightmare for horticulture. Usually, there is a good starting when cultivate the horticulture, however most lack time to care well and the changeable weather compel the weed to overgrow at rapid speed exceeding the speed of pruning shortly that disappoints people' vision and makes them be at a loss as to what to do; Geneally, the common artificial method used to prevent the weed breeding is to cover the PVC cloth and spray herbicide. The shortcomings of former are: no ventilation, transmittance and osmosis, soil denaturation and putrescence, nutrient losing; the herbicide cannot kill the weed on the earth's surface completely, however the dried grass and leaf damage appearance as before, and the loss of fire accidents caused by cigarette ends cannot under our underestimate. To the end some people have to cover it with concrete; for instance it would cost a lot of labor and material to prune the grass in the septi-island and both sides of expressway, there are la COMS ID No: SBM-01073489 Rceivcd by !P Australia: Time 15:20 Date 2005-01 12 12/01 2005 WED 17:14 FAX +64 4 4723358 A J PARK WELLINGTON Smany shortcomings to lawn mower, not easy to operate, so most sections 0 O cannot but to be covered with cement; furthermore because everywhere is full of pollution caused by waste tyres and rubbers, there is no way to C1 get rid of the weed effectively. Nowadays most of the waste tryes and rubbers are be used as fuel, and for manufacturing cement or paper, oo c heating power, and other purposes cannot be used widely. If desulfurize 0 0 and reduct for regeneration, the costs would be very high not accord o with the economic benefit, and embed them into the earth that would be not easy to be rotted (used by America before), that are the worst methods.
An object of the present innovation is to provide a kind of environmental protection scrap rubber weed barrier cushion with good ventilation and osmosis, which is made of shredded waste tyres or rubber, and while the upper layer of the mattress is equipped with is granular rubber comparatively, whereon processed with color, the under layer with small granule, firthennore founded with mixed hardening polyurethane (PU) saturated resin agglutinant with pressure, so that an environmental protection scrap robber weed barrier cushion was expected to be achieved Based on the principle of inverse saturation, the present 2o innovation was designed for protection of soil and ecology, on the other hand with special efficacy for restraining the weed from growing making the plant grow soundly, save the time and labor while beatify the environment, as well as mitigate the pollution caused by the waste tyres 2 COMS !D No SB5MI-61073439 RPcciv..J by IP Australia: Time (H m) 15:20 Date (Y-M d) 2005-01-12 12/01 2005 WED 17:15 FAX +64 4 4723358 A J PARK WELLINGTON [007/019 to and rubber, and reduce the breeding conditions of mosquito, and lessen 0 O its side effects while use herbicide, not destroy soil ecology. An environmental protection scrap rubber weed barrier cushion with good C ventilation and osmosis was made through the regeneration of waste rubber environmentally for protecting the larger environment ecology.

Hereof c the present innovation has the functions of osmosis from up to down, of to ventilation from down to up, whose surface was painted with colorful pigment, which not only takes on beautiful appearance but also has good protection on environment It not only has moisturizing, environmental protection, restraining weeds from growing under using its deadweight, submergence and adhesiveness against the land, abrasion resistance, flexibility and regeneration, but also is easy to be operated and can be used repeatedly. To use waste tyres or rubber to restrain the weed from growing, not only makes the essential conception upon the environmental protection can be achieved, and furthermore the blooming flowers would displace the overgrowing weed. Therefore, based on the structure above-mentioned, the weed barrer cushion can be recycled to achieve both environmental protection and efficacy of restraining weeds from growing.
