Description

Australian Patents Act 1990 Complete Specification for a STANDARD PATENT CONVEYORPRO BELT CLEANER [The following statement is a full description of the ConveyorPro Belt Cleaner invention, including the best method of performing it known to me:] CONVEYORPRO BELT CLEANER The ConveyorPro belt cleaner that is proposed for a patent is an improved version of the many types of belt cleaners on the market today, it is faster to manufacture, safer to produce and will eliminate current problems that exist in the market place for supply and on the conveyor belts for the purpose of keeping the conveyor belt clean.
There are only a few belt cleaner manufacturers and the technology is old and out of date.
Belt cleaners in the market today need to be quickly manufactured, last longer and can use new materials that are safer to the environment and be exposed to all elements that comes in contact with it.
Principle Operation of a ConveyorPro Belt Cleaner The principle operation of a ConveyorPro Belt Cleaner is to be placed into a conveyor system on the primary drive pulley (the drive pulley is at the end of the conveyor system and supports the belt as well as powers the belt), and as the belt comes around the head pulley and starts to travel on its return journey, the ConveyorPro belt cleaner scrapes all the product or spillage from the conveyor belt itself and maintains a clean belt. Keeping the conveyor belt cleans reduces roller and conveyor belt wear and reduces spillages from underneath the conveyor system.
The ConveyorPro Belt Cleaner is mounted on the side of the conveyor hopper with mounting and adjusting brackets and is adjusted so that they make contact with the conveyor belt.
Note: Tension is maintained with the Belt Cleaning tips up against the conveyor belt with the adjusting bolts.
These conveyors are used in every aspect of daily life from the food industry to heavy mining. Conveyors come in lengths from 1.0m long to over 25klm long.
The ConveyorPro Belt Cleaner comes in all lengths and sizes ranging from 600mm long to 3000mm long depending on the conveyor width (there are all different size conveyor systems).
ConveyorPro Belt Cleaner Manufacture: 1) The ConveyorPro belt cleaner main support pole is cut from a full length of pipe to the required length using a power cut off saw.
2) The tip keeper plate and tip support plate is cut of from a full length of standard mild steel flat plate, then holes are drilled using a template, 12mm x 40mm set screws are then welded in the tip support plate holes only.
3) The tip support plate is then welded in the centre of the main support pole 4) The adjusting bolt support bracket is cut from 75mm x 75mm angle and has 2 14mm holes drilled in each angle. One hole then has a 12mm nut welded to it; this then receives the adjusting bolt.
The adjusting brackets consist of a piece of cut pipe with 2 holes drilled at degrees, along with a straight piece of flat bar welded to the side of the pipe, with a foot plate welded to that. There are 2 adjusting brackets that slide over the main support pole pipe and are locked into place and allow tensioned adjustment.
ConveyorPro Belt Cleaner Assembly: The ConveyorPro Belt Cleaner main support pole, adjusting brackets, tip keeper plate, adjusting bolt support bracket is all send to the painting area, where I coat of primer is applied and finished with a top coat.
Once dried, the ConveyorPro Belt Cleaner main support pole goes into a stand.
The plastic pipe end caps are knocked into the end of the main support pole and sealed off.
The polyurethane belt cleaner tips are fitted into position on the main support pole tip support plate.
The tip keeper support plate is then fitted over the top of the tips and nyloc nuts are secured, holding the tips in place.
The housings and bearings are slid over the end of the main support pole and locked into position using the supplied grub screws.
The adjusting brackets are then slid over the ends of the main support pole and locked into place with their securing setscrews.
4 The adjusting bolt support brackets have the adjusting bolts screwed into them and is placed beside the cleaner. These brackets are separate and are attached to the side of the conveyor hopper when the belt cleaner is installed.
The ConveyorPro Belt Cleaner is now completed and ready for Dispatch to the client for installing on the conveyor system.
