Description

AUSTRALIA
Patents Act 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION INNOVATION PATENT
POWERFOOTY
The following statement is a full description of this invention and associated training program:
POWERFOOTY
Powerfooty is a strength and fitness training apparatus and program, which has been developed from traditional medicine balls.
Medicine balls first appeared in Persia nearly 3000 years ago as sand filled animal bladders and were used for strength conditioning by wrestlers. In ancient Greece the physician Hypocrites had them sewn from animal skins and stuffed with sand. His patients threw them back and forth for injury prevention and rehabilitation.
The Powerfooty program has been designed to develop specific Maximum Strength, Explosive Strength, Sustained Strength, Strength Endurance, Rehabilitation, Body Fat Reduction and Ball Handling skills.
Powerfooty is an Australian Rules and Rugby League football shaped medicine ball, which is available in six different weight versions. All Powerfootys are the same dimensions as an authentic Australian Rules football, but range in weight from 1 kilogram incrementing through, 2 kilograms, three kilograms, four kilograms, five kilograms and six kilograms.
Powerfootys are constructed from a vinyl or leather outer-covering, filled with a combination of sawdust, sand and padding material. Future models may incorporate a rubberised outer-covering.
Powerfootys are available and identified in different weights as follows: 1 Kilogram, 2 Kilogram 3 Kilogram, 4 Kilogram, Kilogram, 6 Kilogram.
Powerfooty will be supplied with a basic instructional booklet included in the packaging. The booklet will illustrate the basic techniques to outline a specific training program. The training program will specify exercises for a variety of sporting interests including ball sports, martial arts, golf, racquet sports and track field sports.
Instructional seminars will be available for football club coaches and league representatives and this will be supported by a demonstration video series.
Page 4 attached shows dimensional illustrations for Powerfooty. FIG. 1. is a dimensional 'side view'. FIG. 2. is a dimensional 'end view'.
