Abstract
The position of a transponder (2) is determined by a base system (1) that has a pair of antenna coils (4,5) separated by a short distance. Coupled to these are a control and evaluation unit (3), a receiver (3') and a compensating coil (6). The received transponder signal interacts and a difference in field strength indicates position relative to the base system.
