Abstract
Disclosed is a container (1) for receiving a fluidized bed, comprising a turbulence chamber for receiving a medium that is to be vortexed, and a cushioning space (7) which is disposed below the turbulence chamber and is provided with an inlet (6) for a fluid that vortexes the medium. Said inlet guides the fluid into the cushioning space in such a way that a circular, upward-directed current is generated. Also disclosed are methods for backwashing a filter used for treating water.
